"We're going to be in the TV!"

"We're going to be in the TV!" My daughter Grace tells her dad as we leave the house on a freezing February morning. I've got a huge suitcase full of clothes and a Vera Bradley bag with toys and books swung over my shoulder. Both girls bundled up, run out ahead of me to go get in the car as I coax our old bull-dog Gourdie along with his bed. Trailing behind is my mom who's in town for a few days.

Our whole crew shows up at this gorgeous mini mansion outside Philadelphia where we will recreate our home for the next eight hours.

The set is gorgeous! Full of light and white and my favorite accent color; turquoise. The bedroom set is decorated with pictures of our family taken from our own home and it looks like the image of a perfect home I've always had in my head.

The girls and I get our makeup and hair done with Gourdie at our feet. We delight the kids to stay still with muffins and fruit from the fully stocked craft service center in the huge kitchen downstairs.

The girls get to pick out outfits from Logo Littles and I try on maxi dresses from Liz Claiborne and Susan Graver

After hours of prep were finally ready to shoot. Grace has been keeping the 20 team crew busy asking questions about the cameras and monitors and somehow they have already managed to get my shy 5 year old to relax enough to get some beautiful shots.

Grace is reserved and doesn't always want to do what the director asks of her, but her slightly younger sister Georgia is a straight up ham in front of the camera. She is posing and dancing around eager to get her camera time.

The good mom I am, I keep jelly-beans in my pocket and keep bribing Grace to please do what the photographers are asking. She pouts a bit and takes some breaks with other crew members while Geogria and I do some solo shots. I honestly fear none of the shots of Grace are coming out and that of course makes me start sweating through my maxi which has my stylist stuffing tissues in my armpits and blow-drying my arms in between takes. Sooooo glamorous!

Gourdie has been a bit nervous all day and production assistants have been taking turns running him out in the single digit temps.

When he finally gets on set into the comfy bed he steals the show.

Gourdie has always been a bit of a worrisome when dog. The plan was to have our Pumpkin be in the shoot but she passed away unexpectedly 2 week before. We were all still so raw and emotionally drained from loosing her that we nearly canceled the shoot all together. So when we had Gourdie step in we weren't sure he would even play along.

We were off set getting a snack and when we came back in the videographer motioned to us to stay put and be quiet for a moment. We looked on the bed and there was our big Gourdie calm as could be relaxing and mugging for the camera. It was such a blessed moment. We really felt Pumpkin there with us giving him peace.

You will see all the photos and video from this crazy February day, the entire month of April and May. We're on big posters at the Q and in ads and commercials on the web site and on air. People keep on asking if that's my daughter and yes, it's both of them. No, not our house but the magic of an awesome crew is that we sure felt like it was. Surprisingly, that little girl who was shy and not so eager to get her picture taken ended up becoming the star. The beautiful shot of me snuggling her is as big as the building driving into the QVC compound. I guess we just had to get her in her happy place to open up.

I'm blessed to be able to share a little more of my family with yours. Join me on Facebook – Kerstin Lindquist QVC  to see more.

Happy Spring,

Kerstin

“Sisters function as safety nets in a chaotic world simply by being there for each other.” ~Carol Saline

“When sisters stand shoulder to shoulder, who stands a chance against us?”
~Pam Brown

Whether by blood, friendship, or both, sisters have an incredible bond.
I cherish my sisters and here we are just after Eric and Alice were married in London.

Neither Elizabeth nor Alice had a sister before the wedding ... they both do now!

Alice with her "sisters"!

I love to see the bond between women. And I love when women lift each other up and encourage one another. We should not be in competition ...... we should empower, nurture and cheer each other on!

Life List: How to Make a Succulents Wreath

$

If you know me, you know there are two hobbies I just love...gardening and crafting. So of course, it really doesn't get better than combining the two! :) I spent the past couple of weekends attending different classes at a local nursery, and I got to do exactly that when I started my own succulents wreath!!

The first step was to choose the base. The nursery had traditional wreath bases and heart-shaped wreath bases available.

For the convenience of everybody taking the class, the bases were pre-packed with soil and wrapped in moss ahead of time...it is a little messy but not hard to do this yourself if you want to make your own! Purchase a hollow wire wreath base at any craft store, line the base with a fabric like burlap, fill it with soil, fold the burlap over the soil and hot glue the burlap shut. Then, you secure the base closed and wrap it with moss, which you secure to the base with crafting twine.

Next we chose our succulents, and what a beautiful variety we had to choose from!

The plants selected for us were specific to our growing zone to ensure that the wreaths will last through the season. You could also choose to make an herb or begonia wreath, which I thought were so clever and charming as well...

But ultimately, the succulents with their exotic looks and exciting variety caught my eye the most! I chose a bunch of them, and the next step was to separate them and remove the dirt.

Then, we took these super-long nails and poked small holes into the base.

These holes were where we inserted our succulents into the wreath. I had to ignore the temptation to completely cover the base. The plants will grow and spread over the wreath, so I didn't want to overdo it.

My next step was easy...I left my creation at the nursery, where it is growing in their greenhouse! When it is ready to come home with me, I've been instructed to hang it in direct sunlight, and after that, I need to soak it in water with a capful of miracle grow once per month. (Turns out a trash can lid is the perfect tool for the task!) In the winter I will move it into my shed or garage and water once more for the season...

At the nursery they also created garden blocks using succulents. (Just some more inspiration for you!)

I went by myself but met a QVC viewer, Karen! I am anxious to share it with you in a few weeks when it is ready to go. I loved doing this project...have you tried a garden class or craft yourself? I'd love to hear about it, and other gardening projects.

All the best...

Pat

Meal Make-Over Monday - Baked Chicken Spaghetti

$

0

Let me just say that I picked most of the veggies myself at the orchard.  Needless to say, they are very fresh.  The herbs came from my container garden.

Baked Chicken Spaghetti

Ingredients:

2 packages chicken tenderloins (approximately 10 tenderloins)

2 small zucchini

3 small yellow squash

1 medium onion

1 bell pepper

1 carton grape tomatoes

3 medium carrots

2 cloves garlic

1/4 cup chopped olives (green or black) OPTIONAL

1 can fat free cream of chicken soup

1 8 oz. fat free sour cream

Chicken bouillon base made into 2 cups broth

1 Tblsp fresh Thyme

4 Large leaves fresh Basil

2 Tblsp fresh Parsley

2 packages Quinoa noodles

S & P to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place chicken tenders in 9 x 13 pan.  Season well.  Bake until done, about 20 minutes.  When done, remove from pan.  Chop into bite-sized pieces.  Set aside.

Chop all vegetables, olives and herbs.  Mix together.

Mix together sour cream and cream of chicken soup.  Combine with chopped veggies in large bowl.

Add chopped chicken, herbs, S & P.  Stir very well.

Cook Quinoa noodles according to package directions.  Drain well.  Add to veggies, chicken mixture.  Combine thoroughly.  Add 1-2 cups chicken broth to make creamy, not soupy.

Place all into 9 x 13 pan.  Top with any cheese.  I like white shredded.

Bake at 350 degrees until warmed through, approximately 45 minutes.

Welcome to My Home!

I’m sure you all know about the great home decorating items we have here at the Q, but sometimes seeing them actually placed within a home makes all the difference. Today, I’m sharing with you some of my favorite QVC pieces I have at my house, then on Tuesday, May 5 at 3pm ET, I’ll be featured on Hosts at Home, part of our Ace Your Space event that day.

This is the foyer table that I won at a local auction. I love the intricate carvings and I think the filigree on the bird cages (H204901 - ED On Air S/2 Decorative Rustic Birdcages by Ellen DeGeneres) tie in nicely. The mirror above the table belonged to my grandparents and adds a sweet finishing touch of vintage charm. I love changing the decorations on this table every season—the bird cages are perfect for spring and summer and the ombré flameless candles add a beautiful glow at night.

The ED On Air LIVE sign is a super-fun backdrop to our bar area (ED On Air Prelit Marquee Words with White Finish by Ellen DeGeneres). These signs are so cool. If you haven’t already, check them out - H204013. We sell several words (including HOME, LOVE, HOPE, and others) and they can also be mounted to the wall. I love mixing old and new décor throughout our home. For example, the buffet belonged to my grandparents and the letters are new from our ED On Air collection, along with a few other newer décor items I’ve incorporated.

Nothing stays in the same place for long at my house. I like to move my décor items around throughout the seasons. Here’s another idea for decorating with the bird cages - H204013. This is the runner I used during Christmas but again, I like the way the filigree on the bird cages tie into the embroidery and pick up on the jacquard pattern in my chairs. The Christmas runner quickly becomes a fresh spring piece with the right accents. The flameless candles are always a great option for adding a warm glow anywhere in your home. They’re clean, easy to use, and so pretty when lit (and unlit)!

Be sure to tune in for more decorating inspirations and ideas from yours truly on May 5 and a special on a really fantastic flameless candle with a great feature I think you’ll really like.

As always, check out my Facebook page for our Mid-Week Sneak Peek (#MWSP) item, and if you haven’t already, be sure to like my page to get fresh updates each week. I’ll be away on vacation this week, but tune in Friday 5/1 at 10pm ET for Fashionably Late to enjoy some pre-weekend girl time with Pat. And keep checking Facebook throughout the week for the inside scoop, style inspiration, and lots more fun!

Blesssings,

Jayne

Real Appeal: Candied Orange Peels

$

National Candied Orange Peel Day is May 4. Until last week I didn’t know Candied Orange Peels were a thing, much less a thing that merits its own day! But that’s the magic of the Internet for you. Now that I’m a veteran Candied Orange Peel maker, I slip the subject into every conversation--most recently with the bagger at the grocery store. “I know I bought a lot of oranges but I’m making more Candied Orange Peels!” If the conversation continued, I’d explain that I like the waste-not-want-not aspect of this delicacy. And it only calls for three ingredients which you probably have on hand.

Rustle up:

  • Three oranges
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups water

Oranges

Directions

  • Cut the ends off of the oranges
  • Score the skin and peel. Then cut into strips.
  • Put the peels in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
  • Boil the water and drain. Repeat this process two more times. It banishes the bitterness. (I know what you’re thinking: I wish that would work on people that’s cool.)

Boiling orange peels

  • Remove orange peels from pan
  • Whisk together 1-1/2 cup of water and sugar
  • Bring to a simmer for 8 minutes, then add the peels
  • Simmer the peels for 45 minutes. I simmered mine for 35 minutes since I didn’t want my son to be the last one picked up from baseball practice again they looked done. Nice and translucent.
  • Spread peels on a cookie sheet, sprinkle with more sugar if you like and let them dry for about 4 hours
  • Save the remaining syrup to eat like soup when no one’s watching sweeten tea.

Candied Orange Peels

Orange you proud of yourself? Here are some ideas how to use them:

  • Add to bread or cookie batter
  • Garnish desserts
  • Dip in dark chocolate
  • Just eat plain

Enjoy!

No caption required! The pure joy on Alice and Eric's face is "explanation" enough! I adore this picture and I couldn't be happier for the two of them.

I am also happy for the rest of our family ..... two families that are now one! We all know that it goes far beyond simply a husband and a wife. We are all fortunate to have one another.

Meet Alice's parents: Paul and Lisa.

They are a beautiful couple who couldn't have been any more gracious.

This is Alice's brother, David. Now our Elizabeth has another brother and as you can see, that is just fine by her! : )

Here we all were out and about seeing the sites of London. We almost had enough for our own touring company.

I've been sharing wedding pictures with you as I receive them from others. So, just let me know when you've had enough.

Happy Spring!!  The warm weather has arrived here in Eastern PA.  It's been awhile since I have a made a pork dish.  For my weekend recipe today, I have a Mustard-Roasted Pork with Spring Pea Salad for you!  It's a light, refreshing meal that's great for this warmer Spring evenings :)

Let me know what you think!  Here are the Ingredients you will need:

Ingredients (for 2 Servings)

1 shallot

1 cup snap peas

12 ounces Yukon Gold potatoes

1 lemon

2 boneless pork chops

2 TB dijon mustard

2 TB herbes de Provence

1 cup fava beans

1 cup peas

Directions

Prepare Ingredients

Preheat oven to 425 F. Bring medium pot of water to boil over high heat.  Peel shallot and thinly slice.

Rinse snap peas. Rinse potatoes and halve. Halve lemon. Pat pork dry with paper towel

Prepare Pork and Potatoes

In small bowl, whisk Dijon mustard, herbes de Provence and 2 TB olive oil.  Season salt & pepper.

Place pork and potatoes on baking sheet and pour over mustard mixture.  Toss to coat.  Arrange cut-side down.

Season with salt & pepper again and squeeze juice of 1 lemon over pork.  Roast until pork is golden.. about 15 minutes.

Remove and set aside to rest for about 5 minutes.

Blanch Peas

While pork rests, add snap peas and a generous pinch of salt to pot of boiling water.

Cook until bright green, about 2 minutes.  Add fava beans and peas and cook until warned, about 1 minutes more.

Drain and transfer to bowl.

Fry Shallot

Heat 3 TB olive oil in medium pan over medium-high heat.

When oil is shimmering, add shallot and cook until golden and crispy, 4-5 minutes.  Be sure to keep a close  eye removing pieces as soon as they brown and before they burn.  Some slices may fry faster than others.  Remove to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, reserving oil in pan.  Pour shallot cooking oil and add crispy shallots to bowl with peas and toss to coat.

Add salt & pepper to taste.

Plate Pork

Serve pork whole or cut against grain into 1/4 inch slices.  Divide pork, potatoes and pea salad evenly between 2 plates and enjoy.

Enjoy and be sure to vote for which Apron I Should Wear!

Signature Chef Evenings: A Yummy Thai Recipe!

We recently held our first “Signature Chef Evening” at The Barn at Valley Forge Flowers and it was wonderful! We wanted to enjoy our new kitchen at The Barn with our great customers. So we hosted this first evening with Chef Moon Krapugthong, owner of Yanak in Philadelphia and Chabaa Thai Bistro in Manayunk, Pennsylvania (If you can visit one of her restaurants, please say hello from me!) We were thrilled to have her as our first chef – she is as wonderful as her outstanding cuisine!

14 guests participated in making the meal with the guidance of Chef Moon and then enjoyed a meal together with her. It made for an “experience” about cooking and learning – just what we wanted.  Much of what Moon discussed was how essential the ingredients are in Thai cuisine and most importantly that they are fresh. The fantastic menu included Crab Spring Rolls with Thai Chili Sauce, Tom Yum Chicken soup, Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp and Coconut Ice Cream for dessert.

Chef Moon shared her experiences and recipes with the guests that night and also kindly let me share one of her favorites with you, this delicious Tom Yum Kai soup. You have to try it for yourself!

Tom Yum Kai Soup

Ingredients (serves 2):

16 ounces Chicken Broth

5 ounces Sliced Chicken Breast

3 Slices Galangal Root (or fresh Ginger)

2-3 Stalks – Sliced Lemongrass

4-5 Kaffir Lime Leaves

3 ounces Sliced Mushrooms

2 ounces Sliced Red or Orange Pepper

Seasonings:

3 Tablespoons Fish Sauce

3 Tablespoons Lime Juice

½ teaspoon Sugar

½ teaspoon each Fresh Chopped Cilantro and Basil

Preparation:

Bring broth and herbs and spices to a boil. Add the sliced chicken into the soup. When the chicken is nearly cooked through, add the vegetables.  Let simmer for 10 minutes and then remove from the heat. Remove the Galangal Root, Lemongrass Stalks and Lime Leaves from the pot. Add the seasonings, fresh basil and cilantro. Ladle into bowls.

7 Layer Salad...in 1 Container - No Soggy Lettuce!

$

Hi, everyone!

Have you ever tried to pack a salad in your lunch box? It’s not easy. Either you have five different containers to keep the ingredients separate so your salad doesn’t get soggy, or you have one big container…and soggy salad...that you then don’t want...so you order the grilled cheese anyway.

That’s when a friend told me about the mason jar salad. (I sound like I’m on a drug commercial or something, don’t I??) Anyway, it’s true. A friend at work brought in this beautiful salad in a mason jar and explained that not only can you put all of your ingredients in one container without creating an inedible salad, but you can use one of the thousand mason jars (or in my case, Lock & Lock  containers) in your cabinet. AND, it’s so cute, you could serve these as an appetizer at a party.

7 Layer Salad in a Mason Jar

Here’s my take on a 7-Layer Salad. Note: To keep your salad fresh and crisp, layer the ingredients as follows: dressing first, starch second, fruits/vegetables third, and proteins/nuts fourth. End with the greens.

Ingredients:

Salad:

  • 1/2 cup orange poppy seed vinaigrette (recipe follows)
  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 cup mandarin orange segments
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon
  • 1 cup fresh baby kale, spinach, or salad greens of your choice

Orange-Poppy Seed Vinaigrette:

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp orange marmalade
  • Dash of salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

Preparation:

  1. To prepare the salad: Layer the ingredients, one on top of each other, finishing with fresh salad greens in a mason jar or lidded container. Do not overfill. Shake the container so that the ingredients are mixed with the vinaigrette before eating.
  2. To prepare the dressing: Pulse the first 6 ingredients 2 or 3 times in a Vitamix blender until blended. Pour the dressing into a container, add the poppy seeds, and stir to combine.

Have a great night! It’s almost the weekend…think happy thoughts!

From my home to yours,
—Jill

Hello Ladies!!  Patrick Hoy here with Quacker Factory’s new ‘DreamLook Of the Month!

Do You Know What A ‘DreamLookIs?!

In case you don’t know, DreamLook is Quacker Factory’s exciting new concept in ensemble fashion design.  We’ve created gorgeous coordinated tops and bottoms that work together—or separately - to create a variety of looks that YOU choose! It’s a fabulous way to boost your wardrobe!  Say goodbye to trying to decide what goes with what in your wardrobe – and say HELLO to some complete Quack-Tastic head-to-toe looks!

Getting Ready For the Weekend!

You loved our ‘Weekender Sets’ in the past and have been writing to Angel and me to PLEASE bring them back.  Well, we’ve listened and your wish is our command.  We also listened when you told us that you wanted coordinating items, but could be given the choice to order the tops in one size, and the bottoms in another – after all, as Jeanne used to say:  “Ducks come in different sizes – and not everyone is the same size on top as they are underneath!”

Guess what, we loved the Weekender Sets as well – so in honor of our beloved Head Quack Jeanne Bice, our design team knew they had to update this favorite just for you – AND in time for the summer!  And just wait until you see what they have come up with!

Good As Gold!

It’s May – at long last – and Spring is here and the sun is shining!  So that must also mean that we get to have color again – Yippee!!!!  I personally love this time of year because all of the color we get to see and wear makes us HAPPY!!  And I don’t know if you’re like Angel and me, but one color makes us VERY happy – and that’s GOLD!!!  In fact, every athlete, ever recording artist and every performer LOVES gold as well!  I love watching the Olympics and seeing my favorite athletes winning GOLD medals.  And you know a song is a hit when your favorite singer produces a GOLD record!  And it wouldn’t be the Oscars without that cute GOLD statuette!  So in honor of Jeanne – and all things GOLD – our incredible design team have created a DreamLook that should definitely win not only a gold medal, but also a gold record AND a gold statue!  So that’s why we’re calling it the ‘Good As Gold’ DreamLook!

In-‘VESTIn Gold!

This months DreamLook has 4 different item groups in it.  If I had to pick a favorite of the 4 groups, then it’s definitely the Good As Gold Zip Front Vest & T-Shirt combo!  That’s right – not only do you get a vest that is perfect for spring and summer, but you ALSO get a coordinating T-Shirt!  How Quack-Tabulous is that?!?  We’ve got FOUR different combinations for you as well!

1)      Red Vest comes with a red, white & GOLD striped shirt with a Golden Anchor on it

2)      Turquoise Vest comes with a turquoise, white & GOLD striped shirt with a Golden Starfish on it

3)      Black Vest comes with a black, white & GOLD striped shirt with a Golden Lobster on it

4)      Yellow Vest comes with a yellow, white & GOLD striped shirt with a Golden Pineapple on it

And wait until you see the gold zipper on this – you’ll be worth more than gold when you wear this set!

Here’s a picture of our gal with the golden hair Angel – and Kerin (who always has the golden touch!) showing you the yellow and black vests sets:

And here’s a picture of Angel wearing the red vest with the golden anchor – doesn’t she look stunning?!  A-Hoy there matey!

And your silverware will definitely be gold when you slip into the turquoise vest with golden starfish!  Here are Angel and Kerin about to have lunch served on a golden platter!

Gold From Head To Toe!

We couldn’t give you a DreamLook without any pants to go with it – and just wait until you see what our design dream team came up with!   It’s the Good As Gold Embroidered Woven Capris.  And we all know that capris are slimming, feminine and FUN!  Plus, with a 19” inseam, you won’t have to do any altering when you get them home – regardless of what height you are – how incredible is that?!  And with the embroidered design done in the golden of goldenness threads, even the Emperor would have been noticed in these!

Your three options are:

1)      Navy pants with Golden Starfish

2)      Black pants with Golden Lobsters

3)      White pants with Golden Anchors

Here’s a picture of Angel and Kerin having fun on the docks – it looks like Kerin is ready to drop her anchor in the harbor with her white pants with the golden anchors!

The Midas Touch!

Everything you touch will turn to GOLD when you slip into our Good As Gold Zip Front Jacket!  Whether you’re on a cruise, at the beach, or entertaining friends in your garden around the BBQ, we know it gets a little chilly when the sun starts to set – even in the summertime – so we’ve included the cutest of jackets in this DreamLook.  And since it has ¾ length sleeves, it will be the perfect jacket to get you through the whole summer!  Not only will you be able to show off your golden tan, but your favorite gold jewelry from QVC will be in the spotlight as well!  And with 3 different color and embellishment options, you really are spoiled for choice!

1)      Black jacket has a Golden Tropical theme

2)      Red jacket has a Golden Nautical theme

3)      Turquoise jacket has a Golden Shell theme

Here’s a picture of Kerin in the black tropical themed jacket.  Don’t you just LOVE the pineapple, hibiscus, lobster and flip flops all done up in golden studs?!  It goes perfectly with the black pants with the golden lobsters!

But Wait – Thats Not All!

Jeanne always said that if you’re going away for the weekend, you definitely need choices – and that means more than just one top.  So we have followed her wise advice and the final item in this new Good As Gold DreamLook is not one, but TWO, t-shirts!  It’s the Good As Gold Set Of 2 T-Shirts – and you’ll feel as though you have discovered a pot of gold when you add this to your Quacker collection!  Your color options are:

1)      Black & White

2)      Red & Dark Navy

3)      Lime & Pink

4)      Turquoise & Yellow

Here is Kerin wearing the Navy top.  I just love how she has teamed this up with the red jacket and the navy starfish pants!  And since the studs around the flattering v-neckline are done in golden tones, you really are going to look dreamy in this new DreamLook!

To see more ways you can style this months sophisticated, yet FUN DreamLook, watch this video of Angel & Kerin at Penn’s Landing on the Delaware River waterfront.  I think you’ll ‘Go For The Gold’ when you see how beautiful and happy they look!

You can often find our QVC Golf cart whipping around the halls of QVC. With our sprawling studios and busy show schedules, sometimes we need to move our hosts quickly and the cart is our go-to.  However, in the case of QVC Plus – our cart rides are often almost as entertaining as the live show.  We’ve decided to start showcasing some of our favorite behind-the-scenes moments on the QVC Plus Blog.

[As proven by our “Meet the Crew” blog from last week, it’s obvious that we’re shameless self-promoters.]

Driver: Bryan, Senior Associate Producer
Host: Courtney Cason
Course: Fashion Set to Outdoor Set
Difficulty Level: Expert

With the wind whipping in her hair, Courtney had a real heart to heart with our Senior Producer Bryan as the two hurtled towards the outdoor set. The two setting an example of moving fast, but not furious. I was able to catch all the action from the back of the cart, as the two filled the time with some delicious BBQ Related Puns.

Join us for more fun this week on QVC Plus.  We’re live on QVC Plus on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Bonus!) and Thursday this week!

As always, drop us a line at QPlus@qvc.com with any Questions you have about QVC Plus or just to let us know what you’re loving about Plus!

Theresa's First Holy Communion

We are so proud of our little girl Theresa! This past weekend she made her First Holy Communion! With every step of this journey, her joyous heart was so excited for this very special day.

Theresa - we are so proud of you - and love you with all of our hearts! May God Bless you and protect you always.

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

Our little girl is named after my patron Saint - St. Theresa of Liseuex (St. Terese in French) - The Little Flower. Saint Theresa was known for being kind, gentle, loving, and believing that the smallest things are the most important in life. Our Theresa is filled with kindness, love and compassion for all people, animals and nature. We couldn't be more proud.

As she prepared for her First Holy Communion - Theresa diligently practiced her prayers - and we assured her she would do great. She did.  She continued to practice how to hold her hand when she would walk up to receive Communion.

Joining on this very special day - family & friends - including Carolyn Gracie - Theresa's Godmother and her husband Mike (Who I call Eric - it's his radio name!). I've known Carolyn and Mike OVER 20 years - since we all worked in radio in Los Angeles!  WOW!  We're blessed to have them in our lives!

Carolyn brought Theresa the sweetest gift. A beautiful wooden gift box with 3 Angels inside.  Theresa placed it her room and organized the Angels to watch over her and everyone who walks in her room.

Before we left church - Theresa left a special bouquet of roses for The Blessed Mother.  Not only to honor Mary - but also roses are a symbol of St. Theresa.

We can hardly believe how fast our little girl is growing up.  She's almost finished with 2nd Grade!  I told her daddy - "You know, the next time you'll see her in a white dress like this will be on her wedding day?" - He smiled - and said "I don't want to talk about that!"  And with perfect timing Theresa says "Yes daddy, when I marry Jake!"  (Jake is a boy from her Preschool that she STILL talks about!!!  Daddy isn't too fond of the idea!)

It took some time to get the photos together for this special blog - because as many of you know - I no longer post full face photos of Theresa online.  Trust me - if it were safe I'd have non-stop Theresa photos being posted.  Unfortunately, in this day and age it's too risky.  So my husband and I agreed that we would share side profile photos of this very special day with all of you.  I wanted to thank you all for understanding - and many of you are already aware that I only post photos that don't show her full face.

If you'd like to leave Theresa a message - please feel free to do so below.  Or visit my Facebook Page - www.facebook.com/jacqueqvc to post a message there (at least I can resond to you on FB - I cannot respond on this blog!)

Blessings,

Jacque G.

Moms are MAJOR!

Hi girls! Happy May! And more, importantly Happy Early Mother’s Day!

Is there anything more fabulous and perfect than a mom?! I’m so lucky because I truly have the most amazing mother in the entire world.

Since the beginning, she has always been my biggest inspiration. From how to communicate with women to how to dress well, living in a house full of women taught me so much (I have two sisters).

When it comes to fashion, my mother was always pushing the envelope. She was obsessed with style and wasn’t afraid to wear the most incredible things.  She once wore men’s pajamas to the beach – and it was gorgeous!

It was her courage and creativity that led me to pursue a career in fashion, and I owe her everything.

I would never be the person I was today without her constant guidance and support.  We are incredibly close and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Happy early Mother's Day to all moms and all in motherly roles! We thank you!

Isaac xx

May Unmistakably Judith Blog Post

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re having a great May.  I love this month because of the weather, the flowers, and of course, Mother’s Day.

The expression, “April showers bring May flowers” has never been truer.  I feel like it hasn’t stopped raining in Palm Beach.  One day last week, the rain was coming down so hard that it felt like golf balls were hitting the roof of the car!

When Beth and I were in London, there was no shortage of rain, but in London, that’s to be expected.

On one of those rainy London days, we ate lunch at The Wolseley, one of the city’s most well known restaurants, located in Piccadilly.  The Wolseley is known for its grand, atmospheric architecture and its full Afternoon Tea, which is served every day at 3pm.

We really enjoyed our time there, although, I think that by the end of our meal, the waiter had had enough of us.  Beth ordered dressing on the side, egg whites instead of eggs, no potatoes, dry toast, a slightly burnt omelet, and hot water for her own tea bag (which she always carries with her in her purse). But, I’ll admit that we both enjoyed a fabulous dessert!

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I can’t help but remember some of my happiest Mother’s Day memories with my family.

I always love to receive gifts with some kind of a personal touch.  Whether it’s a handwritten note or a drawing made by one of my grandchildren, something that’s handmade is truly special.

The best Mother’s Day gift that I’ve ever received was a gorgeous silver picture frame with a photo of all of my grandchildren.  Years later, I still have it and every time that I look at it, I’m reminded of how proud they make me.

On Mother’s Day, we love to get together as a family to play games outdoors, such as capture the flag or touch football and beach volleyball.  While I don’t always play in the games, I’ve become a very good referee and part-time cheerleader.

My children and grandchildren asked me to design a sports’ watch they would be able to wear during physical activities and athletics.  I designed a sports watch for them and for you – my new Silicone Watch.

The hues in this watch are so gorgeous and the Silicone material is so comfortable and easy to wear.

I really love the vibrant colors and I think you will too. We have a crisp White, a sleek Black, a feminine Raspberry, a deep Purple, and a Royal Blue.

As the weather continues to get better, your calendar will surely be filled with more outdoor activities, sports, and outings.  With its durable, versatile build, this piece is perfect for all of those occasions, but will also look so good on your wrist that you won’t want to take it off. What types of outdoor activities will you be doing this season? I would love to hear all about them, tell me in the comments!

Mark your calendars for the launch of my new weekly show. Starting May 22nd, you can join me every Friday from 11am to 12pm.  Our debut show will be two hours and airs from 10am – 12pm.  See you soon!

With love, Judith

My Mom, My Hero!

My parents were divorced when I was eleven years old.  My dad was a dentist in town so I mainly saw him when I would ride my bike to his office and spend a few minutes trying to talk to him as he worked on patients.  He was an outgoing, likeable guy and  I know he wanted to be a good parent but he just wasn’t around very much.  He passed away nineteen years ago this month and before he died he told me he how deeply he regretted leaving my mom and missing so much of my formative years.  I always loved him and still do.  But if it wasn’t for my mom I don’t know where I would be.

My mom is an amazing woman.  After dad left, she attended a local community college by night to earn a degree and worked by day at a full time job to help provide for her family.  Her life was busy but she often attended my sports, music and academic events at school.  She was and is so proud of all four of her children (I have three wonderful sisters.)  She repeatedly told us that God had “great things” planned for our lives and that we could accomplish whatever we put our minds to.  She made sure we were in church two to three times a week because she wanted us to have a strong faith in God.

As proud as she always was of her children she never hesitated to discipline us when we needed it.  I was always very competitive at sports.   In fact, most of my summer days were spent on a baseball field.  I remember one time I struck out during a Little League game.  I was so mad that I turned around and threw my bat against the backstop.  My mom told me we were going to have a “long talk” when we got home.  I’ll never forget how badly I felt when she told me how disappointed she was in my behavior and that she had never been ashamed of me until that night.  She went on to tell me that if I ever lost my temper again on a sports field like that I would never play again.   I never did lose my temper playing and I was fortunate enough to attend college for all four years on a baseball scholarship.

Today my mom is ninety-three years old and she is still my rock.  She lives outside of Milwaukee so I don’t get to see her as often as I would like but I still talk to her almost every day.   Her prayers and her advice have made me who I am.  I know and greatly appreciate the sacrifices that she made for me and my sisters.

Mom, on this Mother’s day and every day I want you to know much I love you and admire you.  Thank you for being who you are and for helping to make me who I am.     I thank the good Lord every day for blessing me with you!
