August is Hair Loss Awareness Month. In recognition of this event, the HairMax team is standing by to answer your questions about hair loss and the HairMax LaserComb.
If you don’t see the answer you were looking for, post your question here and check back daily throughout August to see answers from our HairMax consultants.

Q: I’m just starting to notice that my hair is thinning. Is it too early to start treatment with HairMax?
A:
HairMax is intended for males and females in the early to moderate stages of hair loss. It's not intended for those with advanced hair loss. If you wait to treat hair loss, it may progress to the point where the follicles cannot be reactivated to grow hair, so it’s best to start treatment as soon as you begin to notice thinning hair.

Q: How do I know if my hair loss is normal or excessive?
A:
Everyone loses hair and it’s absolutely normal to lose hair every day. However, if you notice that hair is not growing back and you’re seeing more of your scalp, it may be a sign that it’s time to start treatment.

HairMax LaserComb

Q: Should I use the HairMax LaserComb all over my scalp or only to the affected areas?
A:
It’s best to use HairMax on all areas of your scalp to promote overall hair and scalp health. For those occasional days when you’re in a rush, it’s okay to treat just the thinning areas.

Q: Should I use HairMax on wet or dry hair?
A:
You can use it on dry or damp hair.

Q: If I use hair styling products, is it okay to use HairMax or do I need to wash my hair first?
A:
It’s best to use HairMax on a clean scalp before applying hair styling products. Any hair- care products such as sprays, gels, and lotions can build up on the laser window and block the laser light from effectively reaching the follicle. If this happens, simply remove the teeth and clean the laser window with a damp cloth.

Q: I have color-treated hair. Can I still use HairMax?
A:
Yes, HairMax is safe for color-treated hair.

Q: Can I use HairMax to grow back my eyebrows or hair on other parts of my body?
A:
No, HairMax treats hereditary hair loss in men and women. It will not work on other parts of the body.

Q: Can I use the HairMax LaserComb more than three times a week to see faster results?
A:
No,we've found that three times a week is the optimal amount of usage. Using the HairMax LaserComb more than three times a week has not been shown to provide better results.

Q: Do I have to use HairMax for the rest of my life?
A:
HairMax LaserComb treatment should become a part your hair beauty regimen, much like brushing your teeth to maintain healthy teeth and gums. If you stop using the device, your hair loss may gradually regress.

Q: Am I too old to use HairMax?
A:
HairMax can be used by people of all ages over 18. Studies have shown that age is not a factor; it’s the progression of your hair loss that determines how well HairMax will work for you. HairMax is ideal for treating those with early to moderate hair loss. It’s not intended for advanced stages of hair loss.

HairMax Laser

Q: Is the laser power of the HairMax LaserComb diminished if the battery is not fully charged?
A:
If the laser power diminishes because of low battery, the device will automatically power off. If this should happen while in use, simply plug in the power supply and continue your treatment.

"Under the Sea" Collection

This summer has been full of inspiration for me. I have spent a lot of time at the beach walking and strolling the shores. Each time I am there, I find something unique and special from the earths natural gifts. I have recently shared my newest collection of shells and rocks on Facebook. I love the delicate worn shapes of each one. Soft hearts, oval pebbles and weathered shells that have imperfections from rolling around beneath the ocean floor. Some of my favorites are the soft organic shaped hearts.  My newest collection is called "Under the Sea". The mystery of what lies beneath is so fascinating to me. One of my favorite new pieces is a triple drop pendant. I cannot wait to tell you about it in my upcoming July show. This collection means a lot to me and I wanted to make sure that it stands out but also can be worn with any other piece from my other collections. The organic shapes and high polish silver and touch of pearls will always be a signature element for me. This pendant will be perfect for layering over summer dresses and sweaters heading into fall. I hope you are all enjoying your summer and are finding things that also inspire you. I look forward to sharing my summer stories with you during my next QVC shows. Please join me, July 30th and 31st.

Let's Make Mini (Gluten-Free) Cheesecakes!

Hello, foodie friends!

Colleen here again to share some more gluten-free recipes! I posted a few weeks ago and told you how to make David's Banana Pudding Cheesecake (gluten-free, of course), and now I'm here to tell you how to make Mini Cheesecakes, and yes, they're free of gluten, too!

Ingredients:(Recipe makes 12 mini cheesecakes)

12 Scharr gluten-free shortbread cookies (or another brand)
16 oz (2 bricks) cream cheese, softened
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
Topping of your choice (for example: strawberry jam OR cherry pie filling)

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. Put the paper cupcake liners into two cupcake tins. (Note: avoid using foil liners, as they tend to make the cakes taste "foil-y" after a few days.)

3. Place one cookie in the bottom of each liner.

4. Mix the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl until smooth. (To soften cream cheese, remove the foil wrappers and place the bricks in the microwave for 5 seconds. Repeat the 5-second intervals until soft.)

5. Add the vanilla and sugar to the bowl with the cream cheese.

6. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix until smooth. (You can do two at a time if you're feeling adventurous and want to live dangerously, but three eggs is just crazy talk.)

7. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the prepared tins. (I used a Tbsp and it worked well.)

8. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the centers are almost set. (It took me 24 minutes.)

9. Refrigerate the mini cakes overnight (or a minimum of 2 hours).

10. Finally, put the toppings on the cheesecakes. (Do not be stingy...that's not allowed.)

Voila! These guys were a big hit and super easy to make. I hope you like them! I’ll see you back here soon for some more gluten-free tips and tricks!

Enjoy!

A Very BATTY Weekend... WATCH Out!!!

Hello my LCNY fashionistas... I hope you are enjoying summer of 2013. It is going by fast and furious. My burning question to all of you is what did you do last SATURDAY night? I bring this up because Kevin and I had a hair raising experience.

It started out like any other wonderful Saturday evening, dinner with friends, relaxing, peaceful, you get my drift. I came home and, shall I say, everything went batty. Kevin while laying in bed caught something out of the corner of his eye too late for him to react it was a bat that swooped down on him. I heard a strange yell come from his room at this point it swooped on him again and as he rolled off his bed and ran out of his room the BAT had the same idea and they collided. YES the bat ran into Kevin and landed on his chest. He got into my room screaming something I could not make out and locked the door behind him minus the bat. I am now in high alert panic mode and can only assume there is an intruder. I grab my phone to dial 911 and Kevin screams BAT!!! I grab my baseball bat under the bed... protector of all that I am and rush in the hallway assuming I am facing an intruder.  Oh no... Worse a confused scared flying bat. Kevin and I spent the night locked up tight in my master bedroom scared to death of a BAT... we road out the night waiting for the brave exterminator to come on Sunday morning to search the house and find our friend.  Yes he was located. I have decided that in the DAVIES household there is truly never a dull moment.

This Wednesday morning is the LCNY show with MBR and myself. Our NEW YOU item is our first WATCH! Yeah. Beautifully designed classic, stylish, easy to read, even a second hand which is so important.

Coming Wednesday!

I have decided it is about TIME that I hear about your wonderful lives and stories. Share with all of us your Saturday night or summer fun... because as girlfriends that is what we do.  Looking forward to seeing you Wednesday morning and we have a way to keep you on time...

Linda :)

It's Pizza Night! Who Wants a Three Cheese Garden Veggie Pizza?

Hello, foodies...

Happy first day of August...I hope you're all taking advantage of your last few weeks of summer and soaking up the sun on those precious family vacations. As I mentioned before, our theme for this month focuses on pulling ingredients straight from your home garden and bringing them to your dinner table. And today, we've got a perfect recipe to go along with our garden-to-table theme. Our friend Christina is the blogging genius behind It’s a Keeper, and in her spare time, she's the field editor for Taste of Home magazine, a kitchen expert for GoodCook.com, and a guest contributor on her local ABC affiliate WNEP’s “Home and Backyard” program. WHEW!

Lucky for us, Christina was kind enough to share her summer go-to dish: Three Cheese Garden Veggie Pizza. This particular recipe is SO fresh and SO summer, and the whole family is sure to love it. Feel free to pick and choose the toppings...when I make this, I add BACON on top, but you already guessed that, didn't you!

Hi there! I’m Christina, from It’s a Keeper, a food and cooking blog where I test recipes to see if they’re (you guessed it…) keepers. David has graciously let me take over on his blog today and share one of my favorite garden-to-table recipes with you.

Ahhh, August. The hurrah of summer. There are a few tell tale signs that August and, ultimately, the wind down of summer, is upon us – the nights are little cooler, the stores are filled with back to school supplies, and your neighbors, friends, and family are sharing the bounty that has burst forth from their gardens!

The abundance of fresh produce this time of the year is incredible, whether from your garden, a friend’s garden, or the local farmers' market. Everything from beans, zucchini, tomatoes, blueberries, carrots, broccoli, peppers…I could go on and on. All of these bright colors and fresh flavors inspire me to get in the kitchen and make use of Mother Nature’s gifts.

This pizza is one of my favorite ways to go from garden-to-table. The thin crust is crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. The garlic-infused olive oil base is covered with crisp, fresh summer veggies and topped with a liberal layer of cheese – or three cheeses, rather. The great thing about this pizza is that you can swap any veggies or cheeses that you have on hand. It’s perfect for family-style entertaining or a special weeknight meal. This pizza is as fresh as it gets.

It goes perfectly paired with my Fresh Tomato and Asparagus Salad. And, of course, my Perfect Blueberry Pie, makes the perfect summer dessert!

If you get a chance to try my Garden Veggie Pizza, I would love to hear how you liked it. Be sure to drop me a line and let me know what you thought – you can find me on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest.

1 ball of pizza dough or 1 (10-oz) package refrigerated pizza crust
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 medium zucchini, thinly sliced

1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
1 medium bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
1 small onion, sliced
1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup fresh Parmesan cheese, grated

2. Spread the garlic evenly over the crust and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove the baked crust from the oven.

3. Evenly spread the Cheddar cheese on the crust and then layer on the zucchini, tomato, pepper, broccoli, and onion on top the Cheddar cheese.

4. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the vegetables. Next, top with the Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

5. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly. Cut the pizza into wedges and serve warm.

Many thanks, Christina. You've succeeded in making me incredibly hungry. How about you, foodies?

Judith on Shark Tank? And, PREP FOR FALL!

0

Hello Friends,

I hope all of you are enjoying your summer.  Is it really August already?  Is it just me or does time go by even faster as we get older?  I feel like I just switched my closets from winter to summer and can hardly believe it’s time to prep my closets for the switch back to fall / winter clothes.

But, before we talk fall fashion and jewelry, I need to ask if there are any Shark Tank fans out there?   It is one of my favorite TV shows, and the two women judges are, of course, my favorite.  One is Lori Greiner from QVC (go QVC!) and the other is Barbara Corcoran from Corcoran Real Estate.    I received an email a few days ago from Barbara with the below image of her wearing my new 18k Couture Green Aventurine earrings and necklace.

As most of you know from my past blogs, green is Pantone’s Color of the Year.  Therefore, it was great to see Barbara wearing green gemstone jewelry.  In that spirit, I am very pleased to debut new QVC pieces with featuring the color of the year, J284773, Sterling Amazonite Bead 18" Necklace and J284029, Sterling Amazonite Oval Link 18" Necklace.  Amazonite is a very interesting stone with a unique color hue, a beautiful green blue.  It is the perfect stone to stay on trend with the “color of the year,” as well as move into cool blues for fall.  What I love most about Amazonite is that it is not too overpowering, rather the perfect pop of color.   If you love beads, J284773 is for you, and if you prefer stone with open links, I think you will enjoy J284029.

OK, on to fall fashion.  The trends this year are already popping up in stores and online, spurring thoughts of cozy sweaters and long soft scarves.  But, before you buy anything new for your fall wardrobe (although it’s tempting), here are 5-simple tips I always refer to while prepping my closet for fall.   It always helps me get more organized, save money so that I do not “repeat” buy things that I really do not need, and last but not least, come next summer, I feel one step ahead in keeping my life more orderly.

FALL PREP – Changing of the Guards...from summer to fall to winter and beyond!

Tip #1:  Get out all of your cold weather clothes from storage before you buy ANYTHING new!  You most likely have some items tucked away that you don’t remember from last year. Before you accidentally buy something similar, it’s good to know what you have.

Tip #2:  Try to do a little planning ahead when putting away your summer clothes. Put away the ‘dog days’ of summer clothes first, like flip flops and flowy, light weight skirts and dresses. Then, the summer basics. Finally, put away items you will want to pull out first in early spring:  lightweight cardigans and some layering-worthy scarves. This little bit of organization will definitely save a lot of time next season!

Tip #3:  What didn’t you wear this summer? Be honest… When you are taking the time to put away your summer clothes, take mental note of what you absolutely did not wear this summer. If you think it could be tossed to the back of your closet yet again, why not put it in a separate box or bag for goodwill? If you’re not ready to part with it just yet, still keep it in a separate place, and maybe your feelings will change by next year.

Tip #4:   Hold back your lightweight pieces for layering. I have often made the mistake (too many times to count) of putting away pieces I thought were “too summery” only to discover I had packed away some lightweight tops that would have been the perfect layering pieces underneath sweaters and scarves in the fall.

Tip #5:  A few dryer sheets or cedar blocks will make everything fresh for next year. A very simple tip that will make you smile when all of your clothes still smell fresh when you take them back out in spring!

I hope that these tips are as helpful to you as they have been for me.  Having a checklist always keeps me a bit more organized when transitioning clothing from season to season.

In addition to the above featured pieces, I will be debuting MANY more new designs during my upcoming August 4 show, so please tune in.  The times are as follows: 6:00am-8:00am and 6:00pm-9:00pm.

Thank you again for all of your support.  It means the world to me.  I greatly appreciate you tuning into all of my shows, reading my blogs and of course, writing and calling in.  I truly love hearing from you.  So, please, write, call, email, send a telegram – whatever you need to do to reach me – I love your feedback, so keep it coming!

Much love,

Judith

Fried Green Tomatoes & Summer Melon Pie...Ahhh Summer!

Hello, foodies…

Our final guest blog for this week comes from Roberta of Homemade Delish. Roberta—a home chef, food, beer, and wine connoisseur, as well as a wife and mother of two!—picked up the blogging “pen” for me around July Fourth and shared two terrific pizza recipes...one with Ricotta, Anchovies, and Dates; the other with Parmesan, Bacon, Asparagus, and Fried Egg. Talk about flavor explosion! So, to help us promote our garden-to-table theme for August, we asked her to try her hand at dessert. And, here’s her creation: Summer Melon Pie!

There’s nothing I love more than using fresh fruit in yummy desserts—especially if you’ve grown it in your own backyard garden. With this little treat, I decided to incorporate those quintessential summer melons--honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon—into a refreshing, delicious treat.

Summer Melon Pie

Summer Melon Pie

Ingredients:

Crust:

  • 12 graham crackers
  • 6 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp sugar

Pie:

  • 1 cantaloupe, seeded and roughly chopped
  • 4 watermelon slices, cut into small triangular pieces
  • 3 honeydew slices, cut into small triangular pieces
  • 4 Tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 6 mints leaves
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup orange juice

Preparation:

  1. To make the crust, preheat the oven to 375°F. Crumble the graham crackers in a food processor (or by hand in a plastic zip-top bag.) Heat the butter in the microwave until half-melted, then mix the butter into the crumbs with your hands until the crumbs look like wet sand. Use your fingers to press the crust into a pie dish or disposable aluminum pie pan. Bake until the crust is a shade darker, about 10–12 minutes, and let sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. To make the pie, place the cantaloupe and mint into food processor or blender. Blend until smooth, add cream cheese, and blend again. Pour the mixture into a large bowl and set aside. Add the gelatin, sugar, and orange juice to a sauce pan and cook on low heat until everything has dissolved. (This should take about 3–4 minutes.) Slowly whisk the mixture into the bowl with the cantaloupe puree.
  3. Place pieces of the honeydew and watermelon into the crust and pour the cantaloupe puree on top. Then, arrange some extra pieces nicely on top. Place the pie in the refrigerator for about 6 hours, or until the pie properly solidifies. Enjoy!!

Thanks, Roberta! How unique! Foodies, remember what I said earlier this week about not getting stuck in a food rut? That’s why I love Homemade Delish. Roberta posts unique recipes every single day and she always gets my creative juices flowing.

I’m back for In the Kitchen with David this Sunday and our first official garden-to-table recipe is Fried Green Tomatoes with a Garlic-Basil Aioli.

PHOTO

Fried Green Tomatoes with Garlic-Basil Aioli

This recipe is prepared with the Omega Heavy Duty Blender (K35565).

Go to David's Recipe Item Page for the full list of items that David has used in his recipes.

Ingredients:

Aioli:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup blended oil
  • 1 clove garlic, roughly chopped
  • 3 egg yolks or 9 Tbsp pasteurized egg substitute
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Tomatoes:

  • 4 green tomatoes, ends removed and sliced 1/4" thick
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1-1/2 tsp kosher salt, divided
  • 3/4 tsp ground black pepper, divided
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 eggs

Directions:

  1. To prepare the aioli, combine the olive oil and the blended oil in a measuring cup. Set aside. Place the garlic, egg yolks, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a blender. Pulse the ingredients until combined. Slowly pour the oil through the opening at the top of your blender. (The speed should be on low.) After the ingredients are well-blended and creamy, use a spatula to scoop the aioli into a small bowl. Fold in the fresh basil and oregano.
  2. To prepare the tomatoes, combine the cornmeal, Parmesan cheese, cayenne pepper, 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of black pepper, dried basil, and dried oregano into a medium-size bowl. Set aside. Combine the flour and the remaining salt and pepper into a second bowl. Set aside. Whisk the eggs together in a third bowl.
  3. First, dip the tomatoes in the flour mixture; coat completely. Then coat the tomatoes in the egg. Finally, dredge the slices in the cornmeal mixture and coat completely.
  4. Pour about 1/4" of oil into a large skillet set over medium heat. After the oil is ready, add in the tomatoes (in batches, if necessary). Fry the tomatoes until golden brown on one side for about 3-4 minutes. Flip the tomatoes and cook until brown on the other side. Remove the slices from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with the aioli.

One bite of this recipe, foodies, and you’ll be whisked away to the South. Serve it with some sweet tea and you just might start speaking with an accent! See you Sunday at Noon ET.

Keep it flavorful!
—David

Summer Memories of Paris

What a wonderful summer we’ve had so far, and I can’t believe it’s already August! From longer days and casual backyard get-togethers to family time and all-American holidays, summertime has been one great celebration after the next.

But the highlight for me was the amazing trip I took with my mother to Paris. Beautiful, inspirational, delicious, full of history and wonder – Paris is especially lovely as it moves from spring into summer, and we savored every single moment. There were so many sites to see, so many museums to wander through, and so many fabulous meals to enjoy :) And with a boulangerie (that’s French for “bakery”) on almost every corner, fresh baguettes and croissants were a daily treat.

Tara in Paris

Now that we’re back home, I’m trying to extend my foodie vacation memories by enjoying simple, yummy meals like this Beef & Brie Baguette with apricot jam. So easy to make on a Temp-tations cookie sheet (K37847), it’s a reminder that French-inspired food doesn’t have to be fussy to be delicious.

Hope you enjoy the recipe!

Tara

Lid-it

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 10 slices

Beef & Brie Baguette

1 French baguette

1 cup apricot jam

1 wheel (6oz) soft brie cheese

½ lb deli roast beef, medium thick

Preheat Oven to 400°

  1. Using a serrated knife, cut your baguette in half so that it will fit your Temp-tations Lid-it.  Then, cut each half in half length-wise so you end up with four halves.
  2. Spread ¼ cup of apricot jam on each piece of bread.
  3. Trim the outer wrapping off of the brie.  Take two of your pieces of bread and roughly spread half of the brie on each one.
  4. Fold each slice of roast beef and layer on top of the brie.
  5. Place one of the remaining slices of bread on top of each, forming two long sandwiches.
  6. Place both onto your Temp-tations Lid-it and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  7. Slice and serve immediately.

I’ve always loved Dr. Dennis Gross for his alpha beta peel but who knew his wife is the hostess with the mostest? I mean…look at this gorgeous table at their Super Saturday after party!

Yup, our little guy is a baldy. It’s his summer ‘do & it’s growing back QUICKLY!

I picked up amazing stuff at Super Saturday ( $148 bathing suit for $10 anyone, $600 dress for $100!!). It was too good to be true, and even better when I got home and it all fit me!

Lucky for me, I snagged a dress for my parents’ 41st anniversary dinner this Saturday. This is something to be celebrated :)

Riding on the wave of Mrs. Gross’s fabulous soiree, I had an impromptu dinner party for my friend Elliot and his girlfriend, Lauren. I have to share the most flavorful and quick salmon recipe that I made for them. You. must. try. it. STAT! Get cooking….

Recipe:

Four salmon fillets

Juice and zest of four lemons

Five cloves of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon of mustard

1/3 cup of olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

Whisk all ingredients together. Place salmon in bowl or baking dish and cover with marinade. Allow to marinade for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.

What is "investment dressing?" You hear this term bandied about and people tend to use it in different ways. Some people mean investing in something expensive. Some people think of it as investing in specific high-end designers. Still others think of it as buying a few smart pieces for a trend.  I think "investment dressing" is investing in things you will wear for years to come, but yet, they look fresh now. Luxury that is timely, beautiful, you can afford it, and it doesn't bore you. That’s "investment dressing.”

This week on the premier of The Lisa Robertson Show, we cover the "investment dressing" angle with the perfect pieces to transition you into the fall season. This Fall you’ll see an emphasis on luxury, rich fabrics, layering, and finished looks. We've got you covered. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

A beautiful blouse is something you will wear now, into fall, and beyond. Investing in one that has a noticeable twist but is still a classic style is smart shopping. The new G.I.L.I.(TM) blouse with bar hardware on the collar and cuffs is perfect for "upping your game.” It’s noticeably new, but definitely not boring.  This piece covers the luxury look that’s trending and the blouse continues to reign supreme as one of the key pieces going into fall. This blouse makes your skirts and pants look fresh and screams for a simple hairstyle and a finished make up look. Wear it with your lighter-weight fabrics now, then ratchet it up with velvet, suede, leather, and wool, when it’s time for fall. (Note: this fits closer in the bust.)

Cool & Captivating

Champagne Taste

The new G.I.L.I.(TM) skirt is so good! It’s much more flattering than a pencil skirt, and much more tailored than a full skirt. The peplum on this skirt goes up in the front and the back, is slightly lower on the sides, and the result is "right on.” (This fits more closely in the hip/tush area, just to let you know.) It’s the perfect way to bring the ladylike look into your wardrobe that we’re seeing coming in for fall. It’s also going to be a new silhouette for most of us in our skirt collection which is a "Godsend!” Wear it right now with a blouse and a heel, then layer a jacket with it and possibly tights or hosiery when it gets colder.

Oh So SlimmingTame the Wild

One look that is a bit of a challenge for me this fall is layering with a sleek result. If you put the same blouse with your jackets, skirts, and pants, you’re going to get the same look you had last year. The key is a new layering piece. And, the new G.I.L.I.(TM) sleeveless blouse is it. This is a piece that again, doesn't look like everything else in your wardrobe, yet it goes with everything you already have. This is something you’ll wear now with a skirt as a blouse on it's own, and then layer it under your jackets in the colder seasons. From a business suit to a leather motorcycle jacket, this blouse makes them all look new and right on trend with the sleeker look. (This is our "Designer Fit," which is closer in the bust, but the fabric has give, so it’s more forgiving.)

Leading Lady

We’re seeing a huge influence of "exotics" coming in this fall, as well. That can be anything that looks like an exotic animal--including the look of leather. Marc Bouwer has a jacket in one of our “Looks” that’s gorgeous, fresh, and has just the right edge to bring a little exotic into your wardrobe.

Forever Fab

We also have a beautiful, new Dooney and Bourke Florentine handbag, the premier of the new fragrance from Fresh...wow, I’m exhausted just thinking about it!  I think with the beautiful new things we have this week, it will be worthy of being a "Premier"!

See you Friday night at 10pm ET! Don't forget--the blouse with the hardware will not be available until the show, so make sure and be there! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I'm anxious for the cool crisp breezes of Fall, the leaves changing color and of course the fantastic Fall Fashions headed our way!  We're officially kicking off Fall Fashion Day with our First Suede Colorblock Shopper as a Today's Special Value from Tignanello!  It's beyond gorgeous!  The suede is so luxurious!  Then they popped the most beautiful colors together!

As soon as I got to check it out in person, I was thrilled that it had a larger size to it to accommodate all the various things I always have to carry with me in my purse!  It's 17" Wide x 9 1/2 High x 5" Depth with a 10" Shoulder drop!

PLUS -  You're getting 2 looks in 1!  You have the option to zip up the sides and streamline the shopper into a slimmer silhouette!  I love it unzipped to show the contrasting color!  But the tough choice is which color to choose for yourself!

The Black has the contrast side gusset of a rich chocolate Brown!

The Brown has a Tan side gusset!

The Mushroom has a Black side gusset!

The Navy has a Teal side gusset!

The Emerald has a Navy side gusset!

The Wine has a Red side gusset!

I can't wait to try all of them on in person to figure out which color is going to be my choice!

Which is your favorite color of our Tignanello Today's Special Value???

The Wishful Dish Summer Pairings: Crab Cakes with Creamy Avocado Sauce

0
0

Can you believe it's already August? In just a few weeks the kids will be back in school!  But I'm holding on to summer with everything I've got! My Friday Night Meal this week features crab cakes, and I have a recipe for a light and lovely sauce to go with them that is perfect for the remaining days of summer. The best part is, you could be eating this by the end of the week! Since it’s frozen, you will have it by Friday, and be ready to kick off the weekend. I'm also excited because the crab cakes are new! They will only be presented at the Featured Price for The Wishful Dish, and that price will expire at midnight.

Avocado Sauce

1 ripe medium avocado, peeled and pitted

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 chopped jalapeño pepper (only if you want the heat!)

¼ cup milk (optional, to thin the sauce)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

Place the avocado, mayonnaise, lime juice, salt, and one half of the jalapeño (optional) in a food processor until the jalapeño is finely chopped. Taste and add more jalapeño if desired. If you don't want the heat, just leave it out. If you would like to thin the sauce, add a little milk and purée until smooth. Stir in the chopped cilantro and transfer the sauce to a bowl. Cover, chill and enjoy!

The great thing about this sauce is that you can play with it to get your own desired texture and heat level. There are no wrong answers! Also, if you would like to substitute low fat versions of the mayo and milk, it's perfectly fine. I hope you like it!

Oh! There's one more thing. We have a new Food of the Month since it's now August, and it's from My Grandma's Coffee Cakes.

We will see it in the show along with the Hot Pick from Popcorn Pete's;

- which we never seem to have enough of, so I hope to see you there on Monday at 5pm!

-Sharon

Fall Fashion Must-Haves

Check out QVC's Fall Fashion Must-Haves page for total looks!

In other news...

Watching me on QVC, it's clear to see I'm excited about the work I do! I'm surrounded by a team of talented, supportive people and I'm passionate about the designs we create together. QVC makes it easy to shop by phone or online, but there's quite a bit of elbow grease behind every Susan Graver design. It takes a village! From inspiration to finished product is quite a journey and my dedicated team of experts are with me every step of the way.

Here at the Q!

This past week the Susan Graver team had a fantastic meeting. We discussed everything from the past, present and future and I'm happy to say our future looks bright! Facebook has been a great vehicle to learn what Susan Graver fashionistas are looking for. I want to give a big THANK YOU to my Facebook friends who have shared their ideas, suggestions, stories and pictures! Much of your input was discussed at our meeting and I encourage you to continue sharing to help me create items YOU LOVE!

After our meeting I participated in the QVC Accessories Fair which showcases upcoming pieces from various accessory designers. It's was great to mingle with other designers and hosts, see new products, and share my upcoming jewelry designs for the fall season.

Hanging with some of my favorite hosts - these life-size cut-outs are positioned along the QVC Studio Tour route. If you're in the area, you should definitely take a tour!

What Fall Must-Have are you most excited to see this season? I love hearing from you! Join me tonight at 9pm ET, and Saturday, August 3rd at 4am and 6pm ET. I also have a Jewelry show August 6th at 9am ET. Hope to see you there!

Get to Know Nate Matatall! QVC's Go-To Expert for Dell Technology!

Nate Matatall here! I am QVC’s go-to expert for all things Dell™!

Just this past April I moved ALL the way from Austin, Texas to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to serve as Dell’s on-air guest and product expert for QVC. And what an experience it has been! I am originally from Detroit, Michigan and have lived in Austin, Texas working out of Dell’s world headquarters for the last 7 years --- so this was a very big life move as one could imagine.

As I prepared for my relocation, I thought what better way is there to relocate than to take a cross country ROADTRIP!?!? So I did – AND it was an experience I will never forget! Along the way I stopped in Dallas for my last Texas style steak dinner (amazing), I made my way into Little Rock, Arkansas for some history lessons at the William Clinton Presidential Library, and I ate barbeque at a place called Tops in Memphis, Tennessee (delicious). But my favorite city along the way was Nashville, Tennessee where I spent two nights in the Music City Capital. As an avid music listener, it was recommended that I should go to a live music venue called ‘Tootsie’s.’ Within my 10 minutes of being there – two of my favorite musicians walked through the front door! Ironic enough one was from Detroit (Kidd Rock) and the other from Austin (Willie Nelson). This was one fun night!!

After Nashville I made my final stop into Washington, DC before reaching Philadelphia -- If you have never experienced the history and culture of our nation’s capital – I highly recommend it for a vacation.

And now as I write this blog, I have been living in Center City Philadelphia for almost three months now! I love it. While nothing will ever take the place of Texas barbeque in my heart, Philly cheesesteaks at Pat’s and Geno’s have surely found a sweet spot. The culture of Philadelphia is amazing and there is so much history here that I have yet to scratch the surface. What a privilege it has been to be able to experience so much in such a little time!

So as you tune into Dell shows on QVC and continue to read my blogs, I will be sure to update you on all of my new Philadelphia experiences along the way! And I will let you know MY personal favorite places to go!

As your go-to expert for Dell technology, I am here to make you feel comfortable with your Dell computer or tablet. Any questions - BIG or small - do not hesitate to reach out to me and I will do my best to get you the answers you need.

Check out my brand new Nate Knows Dell blog where you can post all of your Dell related questions and get your answers.

Please check me out on Facebook at Nate Matatall - Dell Spokesman for QVC, as I provide you with a glimpse into my life since I have moved to Philadelphia, share new technology tips and tricks, and showcase new Dell products & much more!

See you all on the Q!
