Take an all black outfit and add a simple fuschia scarf and your look is instantly transformed. Scarves are fun and always make terrific gifts. I'll show you a set of two tomorrow morning duringAM Style. Hey, one for you and one to give away!
And here's another video from my friend, Shawn Killinger, with her take on scarf tying:
You should be an expert on scarf tying after watching both of those videos.
The Wishful Dish swings in again this Monday, with some great ideas to help you get food on the table! I know we are all exhausted by Friday, so I want to help you put together a Friday Night Meal that is quick, easy, and delicious! This is the first time I will have David's Cheeseburger Potstickers from the Perfect Gourmet in my show, so I wanted to make this the focus this week.
You have never had a cheeseburger like this before! What I love about them is that you get such full, delicious flavor in a cute, bite-sized package. You can make as many or as few as you want, so it's very easy to keep them portion controlled. There are a couple of easy ways to prepare them, but I really like the crispy way the best. So, what do you serve on the side when you are eating a cheeseburger potsticker? Well, I would treat it like the cheeseburger itself, with fries, coleslaw, or potato salad. I thought I would share a simple coleslaw recipe that can be tweaked in a variety of ways, to suit your own taste. The best part is, if you want to save time you can get the pre-shredded cabbage and carrots in the bag, and this will take only 5 minutes!
6 cups shredded cabbage
1 carrot, shredded
2/3 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 ½ Tbsp. sugar, or to taste
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/4 tsp. salt, or to taste
In a large bowl, toss the cabbage and the carrots together. In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, and make sure to coat every piece evenly. Keep it in the fridge until it's time to eat! Crisp and delicious!
Tip: To enjoy it nice and crisp, try to prepare it as close to serving time as possible, and chill the ingredients first.
I also have brand new pastries in the show from Jimmy the Baker! He bakes from scratch, and these are filled with delicious apples. Positively perfect for fall! So, if you want to see them early, here’s a peek;
We only have a couple of shows left this year, so I hope you can join me on Monday at 5pm!
I'm so excited by this time of year – one, because of the cooler weather (hooray!) but most importantly because of some incredible new things I'm bringing to you at QVC this season! This Saturday is a really fun day at QVC and I'm so excited to be a part of it in a BIG way with my first EVER full hour of accessories! From 3-4 PM, with one of my favorite girls ANTONELLA, I'm bringing you TONS AND TONS of accessories that are perfect for Fall. You need them my girls, so TUNE IN!!! Here's Antonella with some of her favorite items from the show - a super chic and versatile eternity scarf, a Bridgehampton crossbody bag that is simply beyond words, and one of your favorite items that I just adore – a ceramic watch that comes in so many incredible colors I think you have to order at least two…just sayin'
I love the accessories I'm bringing to you because they are the perfect finishing touches to whatever you're wearing. They are what make a woman fashionable. They just make a woman FEEL GOOD, which is so important to me in everything I create for you gorgeous girls. Suddenly just because you're wearing the right riding boots or a floral scarf, your hair looks good, your makeup – perfection. It's all working.
I hope you'll all tune in on Saturday – you don't want to miss this GORGEOUS hour!
I am loving this gorgeous weather that we have had here in Pennsylvania these last few weeks & along with this amazing weather comes many wonderful Fall activities for my family and I to enjoy together. With Fall comes the start of the new school year, where all my kids set off to meet new friends and learn new things, which I absolutely love, not only because they get to experience many more things with their friends, but it also gives me some free time at home to myself. As sad as I am to see the bus pull away in the morning, when the kids leave it becomes my alone time to sit back, relax, & enjoy a cup of coffee! It also gives me some time to catch up with all of you!
Recently with all my quiet time, my team and I have been working on a new combination of coffees to go with our Keurig Vue V500 special offer. I think that we have put together one of the best pack-ups that we’ve ever created for all of you! Just like the way we customize our products for you, the Keurig Vue brewer is all about customizing your perfect beverage by brewing bigger, stronger, & hotter to give you the perfect cup each and every time.
If you’ve been following me on Facebook, you may have noticed that we have just built a new pool in our backyard that the kids absolutely loved! With our new pool came a lot more guests and a lot more entertaining into our home. Having my Keurig brewer really made entertaining so much easier. I would set up my brewers, an assortment of coffees, teas, hot chocolates, a few Cappuccino Vue Packs, & an array of different toppings from whipped cream to sprinkles to broken Butterfinger pieces to top it all off. All of the kids enjoyed their hot chocolates and the adults loved their coffee and cappuccinos. What really made it special was how quick and easy it was to brew, & add a delicious little topping to make it unique.
All of the different drinks that everyone was creating gave me a few ideas for some of my Keurig Recipes that you all love! I’ve been working on a few Fall specialty creations and my favorite one so far is the Pumpkin Spice recipe:
Do any of you have any favorite Fall themed recipes? If so, please make sure to share them here or on my Facebook page. By sharing your recipes and giving us a ‘like’, you can stay up to date with us and all of our delicious creations.
Looking forward to hearing from you all and sharing my favorite Keurig moments with you—and hearing yours too! I cannot wait for this Sunday, 9/15 to share with you our latest offer from Keurig. If you have questions about the Vue or would like to share your favorite drink recipes, chat with me here all day!

True story, I've never made *homemade* Mac and Cheese before. That's right, I’ve somehow survived my whole adult life without the queen of comfort food entering in my kitchen. And since it was my first time (during the work week) I had no time to focus on anything else. I had to seriously pay attention because while I can master the most complicated recipes with my eyes closed, it's the simple meals that get me every time. (I always burn grill cheese) So I asked myself, can mac and cheese count as a meal? Of course it can if you add a veggie (broccoli) and meat (sliced organic ham). Right? The noodles are the carbs and the cheese is the dairy… I would venture to say this covers the entire food pyramid, no?
It was quick, it was easy ... and I'd do it again. But next time I would likely do 1/2 regular elbow macaroni and 1/2 whole wheat macaroni for 1/2 the guilt. I used all whole wheat noodles and it was too naturally al dente for my liking. Speaking of guilt, the recipe came from Cooking Light so I actually felt like I was doing the responsible thing.
10 ounce large elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons canola oil
3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 1/4 cups unsalted chicken stock (such as Swanson), divided
1/2 cup 2% reduced-fat milk
8 teaspoons all-purpose flour
4 ounces 1/3-less-fat cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3 ounces extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (about 3/4 cup)
2 cups of chopped cooked broccoli
2 cups of ham lunchmeat (cut into small pieces)
1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat; drain. Set aside.
2. Preheat broiler to high.
3. Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add garlic to pan; cook 3 minutes or until garlic is fragrant, stirring frequently (do not brown). Stir in 1 cup stock; bring to a boil. Cook 1 minute. Combine remaining 1 1/4 cups stock, milk, and flour; stir with a whisk until flour dissolves. Add milk mixture to garlic mixture, stirring with a whisk. Bring to a boil; cook 5 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken. Remove milk mixture from heat; add cream cheese, stirring until smooth. Stir in salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta to milk mixture, broccoli and ham, tossing to coat. Let stand 5 minutes. Pour pasta mixture into a 2-quart baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle cheddar evenly over pasta mixture. Broil 3 minutes or until cheese melts and begins to brown. Let stand 5 minutes.
My 9month absolutely old loved it- she ate it all right up! My picky 2 year old said “No Thank You Mommy.” Sigh. Well at least he has manners. The good news is, he helped me make it and discovered his new love for uncooked broccoli. Hey, I’ll take that!
Hi Clarks Friends!
When my husband asked me if I wanted to tag along on his work trip to Nice, France, I JUMPED at the opportunity. I immediately started envisioning what I would wear on the fashionable French Riviera. Of course I brought some bathing suits, flowy dresses and sandals, but I knew the nights could get chilly so I also packed a few jeans, sweaters and thankfully our Clarks September TSV, the Scheme Act Ankle Boot. The boots are stylish, on trend and super comfortable. The truth is I didn't even factor in that they are also water resistant. We lucked out with beautiful weather the entire trip, but on the very last day it started to rain. I was so lucky to have my chic navy Scheme Act Ankle boots with me and the fact that they wicked away the rain drops was just a huge bonus. I hope you enjoy your boots as much as I do and for more Clarks updates like us at facebook.com/Clarksforqvc.
Hello PM Stylers! How was your weekend? I love the weekends between Labor Day and the first day of Autumn because the weather just seems to be so perfect. It’s not too hot… there is a breeze… and you’ll find any opportunity to stay outside for a little longer. I hope you found an excuse to get out and enjoy the weather! I know I did. I’m still recovering from Fashion Week and our Accessories Bash so it was nice to do brunch and go out for a nice bike ride with Aaron. Sans the hills of course! (Ps... Tried to go get a mani pedi this weekend but all the seats were taken.)
I don’t know if you know this or not, but I have been trying to talk Aaron into adopting a dog for a while now. With the two female cats and myself- I think he feels a little outnumbered… and he is :) This is where the dog comes in. If we adopted a new dog… whom we would like to name Bruce (we both find it funny and cute when animals have serious human names), they could play fetch, hang out in the man cave, and I would have another little buddy to hang out with during the day while Aaron was at work. This weekend I finally got the “I’ll think about it” comment with a smile and it’s all thanks to this little lady right here, Luna. Luna is the team mascot for Flag Football who barks at every opposing call and loves to chew on footballs, tennis balls, and of course her husband… a stuffed animal duck. Fingers crossed her cute demeanor and sparkly personality will land me a new furbaby by Christmas!!
Oh and BTW- while lounging around the house this weekend… see Allie; Millie unfortunately got sick and had to be taken to the vet. If you have animals and you ever worry about cleaning up any of kind of mess, I can’t tell you what a lifesaver Joe Campanelli’s Stain Remover is. I won’t get into the details but it was so nice being able to clean up quickly with no evidence of an accident. Good news! Millie is doing well and only had a minor little setback :)
Beauty Obsession: It Cosmetics Brow Power Perfector
Brows. You just shouldn’t leave home without them. They are the archways to symmetry on your gorgeous face and truly make such a difference when you look at yourself in the mirror. When did you start to lose your eyebrows or become unhappy with the way they looked? My mother will jokingly tell you she lost hers at 12 whereas I have always felt like my brows were 15 years older than I was! Take a look… my natural brows are dull in color and I have a lot of blonde hairs mixed in throughout the group. The blonde hairs are also dull and sometimes can even look gray! I depend on Jamie’s Brow Perfector so that I can have the shape I prefer (arched, not rounded) and the coloring I always hoped I would have. Here is my before and after. I tried to get as close as possible so please bear with me on my pseudo camera skills.
What do you think? Much better right? What is your go to Brow fix?! In case you’re wondering this is actually a 5-1 solution to Brows. It’s a waterproof brow pencil, brow fill-in powder, taming brow gel, brow enhancing treatment conditioner, and a brow brush. How will you use it?
Tonight, I will be wearing a Patchwork printed top from Isaac. I really enjoy a lot of color for my fall wardrobe and this seemed to be right up my alley :) We also with have a killer dress from LCNY that’s done in a fabric that’s sure to slim you down. Oh! And we have something special happening half way through the show, two items actually… one if a fall must have for any gal that loves a great pair of shoes. Wink Wink.
That’s it for me… Can’t wait to chat with you on my facebook page @Courtney Cason QVC from 7-10PM. Feel free to chat with me anytime on there- I try my best to get right back to you since I cannot respond here within the community.
What a wonderful time we had at the Borgata on Saturday, foodies. A great big “thank you” to all of you who came to Atlantic City to see my demonstration…I’m always humbled by your support and enthusiasm. It was such a pleasure to meet you all.
So, our last recipe on In the Kitchen with David was a Sunday dinner specialty…eggplant parm! This Wednesday’s recipe is Five-a-Day Fried Rice. It’s perfect for busy weeknights because it cooks up in just 10 minutes. And, it’s a delicious way to get your kids—and those picky adults—to eat their veggies.
Five-A-Day Fried Rice
This recipe is prepared with the Temp-tations® Set of 3 Serving Bowl Set (K39692).
Go to David's Recipe Item Page for the full list of items that David has used in his recipes.
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
1/3 cup red bell pepper, chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped
1 cup broccoli, chopped
3 cups white rice, cooked
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
2 tsp vegetable oil
5 eggs, beaten
2 green onion sprigs, finely sliced (optional garnish)
1. Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet (or wok) over medium-high heat. Add the onions, peppers, celery, carrots, and broccoli. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3–5 minutes.
2. Add the cooked rice, ground ginger, and soy sauce and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring to evenly distribute ingredients. Stir in the peas and reduce the heat to medium low.
3. In a separate skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the beaten eggs and stir quickly until the eggs are completely scrambled and cooked. Add the eggs to the rice mixture and toss to evenly distribute.
4. Spoon the rice onto plates and garnish each dish with the sliced green onions, if desired
For many years, five was the magic number when it came to how many servings of fruit and veggies kids should eat every day. But would you believe experts now recommend even more? Luckily, schools are helping. Instead of grilled cheese and pizza every day, kids are eating healthier foods for lunch. And, if you pack their lunch, you have even more opportunity to sneak fruits and veggies in when you can. But, at the end of the day and it’s time for dinner, you can feel good about giving them this veggie-packed dish.
For your blog question today, tell me what healthier, veggie- or fruit-based recipe is a hit in your house? Is it Eggplant Parmesan? Homemade marinara sauce? Maybe a big fruit salad? I could eat my Hearty Vegetable Lentil Stew any time of year. It’s just loaded with nutritious ingredients and the flavor is out of this world! See you Wednesday at 8pm ET, foodies.
Keep it flavorful!
P.S. During my trip to Depot Town Farmers’ Market in Ypsilanti, I met with an amazing woman…Vicki Zilke, who is one of the vendors at the market. I could have talked to Vickie all day…she had so many great tips for using and storing that precious summer produce. Here’s Vickie’s tip on freezing blueberries!
We have a major crush these days on the color Orange. Whether we’re adding a pop of color to the kitchen, brightening up our manicures or infusing the cheerful hue into our wardrobes, it’s the perfect way to add an instant pick-me-up to the day as we enter the cooler months. So tell us, how will you infuse this happy hue into your lifestyle?
Hi everyone! I’m Naomi from QVC’s social team. If you follow our social media pages, we’ve probably chatted before! Last week I had the incredible opportunity to travel to New York City for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Over the next few days I'll be sharing some of my favorite moments from the week right here.
One of the highlights of my trip was being invited backstage at the Tracy Reese Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Show at Lincoln Center. Our gorgois friend Mally was on hand to create the perfect look for the 22 models walking in Tracy’s show and she did not disappoint! Mally and her team were already hard at work when I arrived and there were probably 100 people—makeup artists, hair stylists, models, photographers, press—all buzzing around backstage. The energy was intense and it was hard to not have one of those “pinch me!” moments as I looked around. The craziness backstage was no match for Mally’s bubbly spirit—with all of those people she still managed to light up the entire room with her smile and her genuine love of making girls look beautiful. Even though she was obviously busy, Mally still took the time to explain the look for the show—it was all about a slightly Asian/Latina vibe with big eyebrows, even bigger eyes & a slightly slept-in look. The end result was super gorgeous! Mally’s team helped to create the looks, but she put the finishing touches on each girl and I’ll never forget getting to see her up close working her magic. Thanks so much to Mally and her team for allowing us this amazing opportunity and congratulations on a beautiful show!
Mally embracing the energy backstage!
She was so precise in explaining exactly the look she wanted to her team of makeup artists
Mally used her Pro-Tricks Lip Paletteon all of the girls
Look at all that Mally Beauty! Heaven!
Here’s Mally looking beautiful wearing one of Tracy’s designs. I love these colors on her!
This was one of my favorite images. I love the look Mally created using her Mally Lit from Within Blush & Highlighter Duo with Brush
Isn’t the eye makeup beautiful? Here Mally used her Starlight Eyeliner in Midnight
Brows, brows and more brows! I loved the lush look Mally created so much that I immediately bought her Mally Brow Beauty Double-Ended Brow Pencilwhen I got home!
This is Mally with Tracy the designer. Such inspiring women! You can see more of Tracy & her designs here!
Even Phil was backstage! He was busy snapping photos & video and cheering on his girl!
Courtney Cason got the inside scoop on the full look from Mally herself. Take a peek!

Iz was not quite 2 (notice the baby-proofing). We were settling down for a nap when Mozart, the cat, decided to snuggle up with us on my 15 year old blanket. Makes me glad I didn’t pull down the super soft Dennis Basso blanket (top of couch) to join us! Ah…the memories & the comforts of home!
My daughter and I love this holster for our curling irons and not only does it keep things organized, it's also comforting to know that it's a safe and convenient solution for storing our hot curling irons...it's Cat and mom approved!!
The fireplace in my bedroom is one of my favorite comforts of home. I’m happy my Air Innovations Humidifier keeps the dry air moist by putting just the right amount of moisture in the air.
When I think of comforts of home, I think a Dennis Basso throw, a cup of tea, and a purring kutty! What comes to mind for you?

I wanted to kick off this week’s blog with a big ol' THANK YOU. Thank you for reading and thank you for your feedback! I was in Atlantic City this past weekend for a cooking demonstration by David Venable and I met Graceanne (pictured below). Not only is she a whole lot of fun, but she is gluten free as well. She said she loves the GF recipe sharing and we need more. SO let’s do more of that right now!
One of the things I have had a hard time with in my gluten free world is bread. You have to really explore on your own and find what brand you like most. In particular, I was struggling to find a good roll for a cheeseburger. We love to grill at our house, but the gluten free rolls I was bringing home was not doing that burger justice!
Per my Mom’s suggestion, I decided to try “Oopsies”. This is a gluten free bread substitute that is EASY to make at home. I have seen this blogged about everywhere and tried it. I LOVE them and wanted to share the recipe to see if you would like to try!
1/2 tsp baking soda
3.5 ounces cream cheese
Salt & pepper
Separate the egg whites & the egg yolks. Keep the egg yolks in a bowl to the side. Whip the egg whites for a couple minutes (I did mine in my KitchenAid stand mixer) until it has a solid, does-not-move consistency (should look like a very peaky meringue).
Mix the egg yolks and the cream cheese together in a separate bowl. Mix very well & then add in the baking soda. While the egg whites are still in the mixer, pour the egg yolk/cream cheese mixture into the egg whites & blend gently.
Place 2 big spoonfuls (any size you would like to make them, really) onto baking sheets and bake them at 300 degrees for 25 minutes. So light and crunchy too!
*TIPS: Make sure your baking soda is fresh, or your Oopsies will be rather flat. Also, I made them hamburger-bun size so I could use them for exactly that. Feel free to play with the sizes: hot dogs, sandwiches, etc. I use a silicone baking board when I make mine and that works great. Feel free to use a little spritz of cooking spray on your baking sheet to help remove them when you’re all done.
There you go! Hope you like it and please keep your suggestions coming. I hear you loud and clear about bringing more gluten free to QVC and I pass on all of your feedback. My current gluten free snack obsession at QVC? Healthy Grains from Kind! DELICIOUS and satisfying!
What other GF recipes would you like to see? More baking for fall? More casseroles? More snacky choices? Let me know!

Hello from Indiana!
I’m back at my grandparents’ farm, where I spent my childhood and this is such a special place. It's where my grandma taught me the secrets to baking and my grandpa taught me to appreciate a farms bounty. My grandpa is 96 now...slowing down, but still sharp as a tack. I treasure my time here...the dark nights; the quiet; touching my grandmother’s things; sneaking a candy bar from the fridge; listening to my grandpa talk about playing baseball against Ted Williams. I am who I am, much in part to the love and teachings of my grandparents.
I can’t tell you how many apples I’ve eaten from this tree, but luckily, more appear every year! :)
These big, beautiful apples always remind me of a recipe my mother made when I was growing up: Apple Cinnamon Pancakes with Warmed Cider Sauce. Friends, believe me when I say this is a recipe is one of the absolute best. My mom was a teacher and she used to fix them for staff breakfasts at her school…all the teachers rallied together to make them. I truly love all the recipes I’ve shared with you so far, but this is the one everyone always wants…I don’t remember having pancakes as a child that weren’t these.
Apple Cinnamon Pancakes with Warmed Cider Sauce
1. To make the pancakes, combine the biscuit mix, cinnamon, egg, and milk, then stir in the apples last. Use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop the batter onto a hot griddle to ensure evenly sized pancakes. Cook until lightly brown on both sides. Keep the pancakes warm in the oven while you make the sauce.
2. To prepare the sauce, combine the cornstarch and spices in a small sauce pan. Add the cider and lemon juice and cook over low heat, stirring often, until the mixture gently boils and thickens. (If the sauce doesn't thicken, add a little more cornstarch.) Remove the pan from the heat and add the butter. Immediately serve it over your finished pancakes and garnish with a dollop of sour cream, crème fraiche, or Greek yogurt, if desired.
When I make these now, my family runs to the breakfast table (or dinner, if it’s a breakfast-for-dinner kind of night!). Trevor likes these with the sauce on the side, my daughter piles on extra sour cream, everyone has their own preference. But there’s one thing we all have in common: we can’t get enough of these pancakes!
We’re whipping up a stack—not to mention those DIY coasters—tomorrow night on You’re Home with Jill. Don’t forget—the show starts at 7pm ET!
From my home to yours,
(Though my drink tasted just as amazing as David's, his photo can't be topped!)
David may have devised the recipe, but I consider Frozen Summer Sangria mine.
I whipped it up several times this season—and even brought the required frozen fruit and my Vitamix on vacation! The ingredients list doesn’t specify, but this drink goes especially well with girlfriends. There’s nothing like a pitcher on the patio with a bunch of your besties.
Even though everyone’s in back-to-school mode, I just wanted to provide this public-service message: there’s still time to savor Frozen Summer Sangria with friends. Technically, it’s summer until September 21!
Enjoy the last drops,
Foodie Friend Tara
