New Spring Formulation

Traveling as much as we do from the West Coast to the East Coast and back again can be quite the transition, especially during winter. From wearing shorts and sandals in sunny California to being bundled up in front of a fireplace in Pennsylvania, the WEN by Chaz Dean team always spends the better part of December, January, and February eagerly awaiting the warmer weather of spring.

This year, I wanted to create a new seasonal formulation that captures the fresh scents of spring. Inspired by my childhood, WEN Spring Orange Blossom reminds me of days spent racing past the orange groves in Simi Valley, California when I was growing up. The refreshing citrus scent hits me with a wave of nostalgia, and every use brings me back to the fun, carefree, sunny days of my childhood. I was also inspired by the memory of our family trips to Florida, where my great grandparents lived and we visited every spring. There, we picked fresh oranges right from the branch and drank the juice right out of the fruit in our hands.

Coming up with the scent was the easy part of bringing Spring Orange Blossom Cleansing Conditioner to life. I always shoot the photos for the labels of my WEN by Chaz Dean product line, so of course I planned on shooting this one as well. However, finding orange blossoms to photograph while they were out of season was quite a challenge. After months of searching for a tree with blossoms, we were about to throw in the towel. As fate would have it, I got a call about a tree that needed to be removed from my property. I don’t like taking a tree down if it can be avoided, so I went to see it in person. I couldn't believe it when it turned out to be an orange tree and, even better, an orange tree still in blossom. I got my camera then and there and shot hundreds of photos and we had our label.

I truly believe that the Spring Orange Blossom Cleansing Conditioner is going to become a fast favorite among my clients and customers all over the world. With its sweet, light fragrance and crisp, refreshing properties, it's a seasonal formulation you definitely don’t want to miss!

What do you most look forward to in the spring?

I Love New York!

This past weekend Richie, Pebbles and I took a drive to see my daughter Jaclyn and her boyfriend Kevin in NYC! Windows down, and music up, the first taste of spring was in the air as we cruised the two hours up the Jersey Turnpike. It was a wonderful start to a great weekend! We stayed at a beautiful dog friendly hotel downtown just a few blocks from Jaclyn's apartment.

This city is so alive! Constantly moving and changing, sometimes it's fast pace makes it hard to stop and take in the beauty of it all. Jaclyn and I love strolling and window shopping. We like to see what other designers are doing and the arrival of new collections. There is such an amazing variety of looks and styles, it seems never ending. In addition, the people on the street are a showcase of their own, looking as if they popped right out of a magazine.

This part of the city has such a hip, young, vibrant energy and I love it! Jaclyn and I weaved our way in and out of stores while Richie and Kevin strolled patiently behind with the two dogs.

Not only do we have so much fun, but it's a fantastic way for us to bond. I had such a wonderful weekend and love spending time with my family all while keeping a pulse on what's happening in the fashion scene!

Please join me Thursdays 9am ET and Sundays 10pm ET!

xoxo,

Susan

Of-Facial-ly Ready To Walk The Red Carpet-- Read About My Visit To The Kate Somerville Clinic!

0
0

Kate Somerville is famous, in part, for getting celebrities' skin ready for a trip down the red carpet.

When you want instant glow, Kate's Skin Health Experts Clinic is the place to go. She invited me to visit her clinic while I'm in LA for our Red Carpet show. I knew I would love the pampering, but could one facial really change my skin in a way that was truly noticeable? I couldn't wait to find out!

Here are pictures from inside the Kate Somerville Health Experts Clinic in West Hollywood, CA.

The facial started with Kate's Gentle Daily Wash to cleanse my skin. After my skin was cleansed, the esthetician applied the famous green Exfolikate

Once my skin was exfoliated, I received Kate's signature DermalQuench treatment, which hydrates and nourishes the skin. I already love her at home version of Dermalquench, so this was a treat!

Then, I went under the DermaLucent red LED light to further penetrate the serum, and stimulate collagen and elastin.

The results blew my mind. I can't believe how good my skin looked and felt! In fact, I took a "selfie" to show you (and I generally will not do "selfies" haha!). I'm still on the table and have no makeup on, but I think you can see I really did get the instant glow Kate promises. I may never walk an actual red carpet, but after my day at Kate's clinic, I feel like I have red carpet skin!

Our 10 Best Chocolate Recipes--Ever!

0
0

Hello, foodies…

We’ve made some incredible chocolate recipes this month on In the Kitchen with David. But, as of this week, we cleared 400 recipes on QVC.com! And, some of your favorites were our chocolaty desserts. So what are the 10 best chocolate recipes we’ve ever made on the show? Here’s our list. You can find all of these in one single pin on Pinterest. You can also find each recipe on David’s Recipes. Or, click on the titles below to go to the individual desserts.

10 Best Chocolate Recipes

Chocolate Fruit Dip

Chocolate Fruit Dip

We’ve all had that creamy, white fruit dip that’s nestled in the center of every fruit tray, but it’s not the only dip worthy of fresh fruit. We created this chocolate dip last summer and I’ve made it more times than I can count. Try it with berries and bananas, but don’t forget pretzels and pound cake.

Chocolate French Fries

Chocolate-Dusted Fries

Yep. Chocolate fries. The ultimate sweet and salty treat. Use shoestring, waffle, wedge, crinkly, or plain old standard French fries and they’ll be just as addictive.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pizza

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pizza

Maybe we should have named this recipe “What Kids Want on Their Birthday.” (And by “kids,” I mean little kids and kids-at-heart.) This is a giant chocolate chip cookie topped with peanut butter cups and candy-coated chocolate. What’s not to like?

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cups

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cups

I can still hear my mother now, “You’ll get sick if you eat raw dough!” Sound familiar? This recipe is for all the foodies out there who also got their hands slapped when they stuck some chocolate chip cookie dough from the bowl. Dig in. And enjoy every last bite.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bacon Cookies

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bacon Cookies

I know chocolate and bacon might be an intimidating combination for some. So, if you’re unsure, try only using only the bacon fat when you mix up the cookies. You’ll still get the flavor but not the shock of the bacon pieces.

Chocolate-Raspberry Mousse Cups

Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cups

I’ve been known to do a happy dance or two. Okay, maybe three. Anyway, I did a minute-long happy dance when I first tried this recipe. Whip these cups up for your next dinner party and guests will love what they see and taste!

 Mexican Hot Chocolate

Mexican Hot Chocolate

You won’t find whipped cream or chocolate shavings on authentic Mexican hot chocolate. It doesn’t need it. The cinnamon flavoring in the chocolate gives this hot drink a rich depth and warmth that doesn’t come from the temperature.

Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Even though this recipe is well, frozen, that doesn’t stop me from making it in the dead of winter. It’s like chocolate peanut butter ice cream but better because it’s on a crispy cookie crust and topped with crunchy candies.

Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake

Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake

Homemade whipped cream really makes this recipe terrific…take the time to make it. It’s just heavy cream and sugar. If your cream is very cold and you even have time to chill the beaters and mixing bowl, your cream will whip faster and increase in volume.

Dark Chocolate Coconut Macaroons

Dark Chocolate Coconut Macaroons

These cookies are now part of my permanent holiday rotation. And, I triple the recipe and freeze a bag so I can enjoy them whenever I get a craving. Let the kids help you dip them in chocolate—it might get messy, sure, but isn’t that part of the fun?

Keep it flavorful!

Growing Up Gardening - My Philadelphia Flower Show Presentation!

0
0

Hi, everyone!

I’m headed to the Philadelphia Flower Show this weekend and I’m buttoning up the craft projects for my "Growing Up Gardening" presentation at 11am ET. So I just thought I’d practice my demonstration here in my blog. You don’t mind, right? :)

I love to garden…in fact, I just love being outdoors. I instantly feel relaxed when I’m outside and rejuvenated to be back in touch with nature. I don’t think enough of us garden—it’s so easy nowadays to go to a store and buy fresh produce or flowers. But gardening is a valuable skill and something we should make an effort to pass along to our kids, so they’ll grow up and want to have a garden of their own. So how do we instill that passion early on? How do you keep their interest when there are so many other distractions vying for their attention? You grow a garden together. You can also make fun crafts for the garden to reinforce that it’s their own creation.

Here’s one of my favorite projects…and you start by raiding your garage. You’re looking for those miniature terracotta flower pots you piled up last spring. Find them? Good! We’re going to make wind chimes out of these cute little pots. See? (Ignore the mess...I'm gathering all my supplies!)

Flower Pot Wind Chime

Here’s what else you’ll need:

  • Colorful outdoor spray paint
  • Craft wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Multicolor beads
  • Miniature jingle bells
  • Garden stake
  • Large eye hook

 Assembly Instructions:

1. After you wipe the dust off your pots, set them on some old newspaper and paint them. I chose to make every pot a different color, but this is your project! Paint as desired.

2. Next, fasten the eye hook to the end of your craft wire, then roll out the wire to gauge the size of your chime. You want to have some room for those colorful beads and all three pots, so make an educated guess. (I erred on the side of caution and made mine a little longer than I thought—it was a good decision!

3. String some beads and bells onto the wire followed by a painted pot. String on more beads and bells and then another pot. Repeat. When you’ve got about an inch left at the bottom, bend the end of the wire up and twist, so the beads won’t fall off.

4. Now, hang it anywhere you like—on a garden stake, a tree branch, or the roof of a patio. Just make sure the kids can see it all the time—they’ll be so proud of their project!

You know all those bigger flower pots you shoved aside looking for the tiny ones? Go get em! I've got another great idea for those...Chalkboard Pots! They're perfect for plants--and beyond!

Chalkboard Pots

This project is as simple as simple gets. Just go to your local hardware store and pick up some chalkboard paint—I found it in a spray paint form. Paint the pots and then use chalk to label what’s inside or draw designs. If the pots are staying indoors, you can call it a day. But, if you’re keeping the pots outdoors, be sure to cover them with clear, waterproof spray paint to seal the artwork permanently.

Along the same lines of labeling your plants, here’s a project I like to call Rock Your Garden!

Rock Your Garden

What You'll Need:

  • Several river rocks
  • Weather-resistant spray paint
  • Weather-resistant paint
  • Fine-tip paintbrushes

How to Assemble:

1. Clean the stones in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. Spray paint the stones, as desired, allow them to dry completely, and then hand paint as desired. Since these are definitely meant for the outdoors, I would  seal the stones with the same clear, waterproof spray paint you used on the pots.

Finally, growing your own produce can teach kids another valuable lesson—how to cook. On my recipe page, you’ll find my Homemade Strawberry Jam which is easy to make and such a great gift. If your garden can’t produce 2 quarts of berries, use whatever you have and supplement with store-bought produce.

If you don’t have plans tomorrow, come to the Flower Show! I would absolutely LOVE to see all of you there.

From my home to yours,
—Jill

As we watch all the fun this week leading up to our big Red Carpet Event on Friday in Los Angeles - it really makes me miss one of the biggest and brightest personalities that we shared this special moment with - Barry Ort from Kenneth Jay Lane. This was an event that Barry always had something spectacular from Kenneth Jay Lane to share with us. Barry was the VP of Kenneth Jay Lane Jewelry.

For those of you who weren't aware - Barry passed away unexpectedly at the end of December. It shocked and saddened us all.

This is something that I've wanted to write since last month - but just couldn't accept the fact that Barry is gone. It doesn't seem real. Many of us at work have said that to one another many times. I think we're all still in a state of denial.

I found out about Barry's passing the day after it happened. I found out when I had arrived in NYC with my family - and I was about to call him to plan a visit that day.

Normally at this time of the year - I'm chatting with Barry about what the celebrities will be wearing on the Red Carpet and what beautiful jewelry designs Kenneth Jay Lane had designed for our Red Carpet Event.

He was a man that I trusted with anything and everything. He was full of compliments as well as "education" when it came to my fashion choices! I knew he'd tell me the truth - so I would ask for his opinion on so many things! Now that's a friend!

When I was pregnant with Theresa in 2006 - I made a trip to NYC to spend the day with Barry and Kenneth Jay Lane. I hadn't told anyone I was pregnant yet - it was still too early. So after a wonderful time in Kenneth's design studio we all went to lunch together. Kenneth is a gentleman who likes to order for his guests. It just so happens that early in my pregnancy I developed a horrible aversion to any type of beef - and guess what Kenneth ordered? You guessed it - beef! Then he ordered a special bottle of wine! I'm thinking in my head - what do I do?

You Tube #1

Luckily, Kenneth saw someone he knew and excused himself from the table for a moment. I quickly whisper to Barry - "Help me! I can't eat or drink any of this - I'm pregnant! I'm afraid to offend Kenneth after he was so gracious to order such a lovely lunch - but if I see or smell beef - I may get sick!" Barry said "Mazel Tov! I've got you covered, don't worry."

As Kenneth came back, Barry told him "Kenneth, would it be ok to order something light for Jacque? She's getting over something and she didn't want to offend you." Kenneth said "Absolutely!". Barry gave me a wink. About a month later I told Kenneth the truth that I was actually pregnant and he was so sweet and congratulated me and my husband!

Bring on Spring with a Cool Aqua Color!!

0

As the frosty winter comes to a thaw, March Babies turn the season over with Crystal Blue Aquamarine!  Colors ranging from a clear blue summer sky to a deeper Caribbean blue ocean.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…. Are you ready for it?  I AM!!

Just the name – “Aquamarine” – makes me feel like I’m on vacation, sunning myself on a warm beach.  The name 'Aquamarine' was derived from an old Latin expression which meant 'seawater'.

In the same beryl family as emerald and morganite, aquamarine shows the same fantastic properties and being that it is a 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs hardness scale, it is very wearable.

Whether you choose the cross, the traditionally faceted aqua ring or the milky aqua ring with the stunning pop of iolite stones on the band, I know you will love these additions to your jewelry wardrobe!

We don’t get to see this clear, sparkly beauty often and March always provides that window of opportunity to look into the world of Aqua.  Enjoy these stones, no matter whether they are faceted or cabochon.

Delve into the bright, brisk blue and thaw out…… See you on the Beach!!!!

Happy Birthday March Babies!

Xoxo,

A

Golden Spatula Awards this Sunday! Who Wants a Lean, Mean, Green Smoothie?

Hello, foodies…

Another February has come to a close. It was, by far, the sweetest month on record and I’m glad you all enjoyed our ode to chocolate. I know I did—as did the chocoholics on the In the Kitchen with David team! Now that March has arrived, we’ve got a lot to look forward to. Surely we’ll  start to see some spring-like weather around the country towards the end of the month. And, did you happen to hear about some very special guests coming to QVC on March 16 (they may or may not be known as THE MUPPETS!)? Both exciting events have inspired our month-long theme on ITKWD:“It’s Not Easy Eating Green!”

That’s right—every recipe we make this March will be green. And, even though you may find it hard to buy, make, and eat healthy foods, we’ll show you some recipes that will get you to re-think what you may have thought about good-for-you green veggies. In fact, we’ll be doing something special with kale (one of the greenest and healthiest veggies you can buy) later this month. And, it’s an ingredient you’ll find in my recipe this Sunday. First, a little kale-tenderizing lesson from our friends at America’s Test Kitchen.

Now back to Sunday’s super-food recipe: my Lean, Mean, Green Smoothie!

Lean, Mean, Green Smoothie

Lean, Mean, Green Smoothie
Makes 7 cups

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 cups seedless green grapes
  • 1-1/2 cups honeydew chunks (1/2” chunks)
  • 1 cup loosely packed chopped kale, stems removed
  • 1 cup loosely packed baby spinach, stems removed
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 1/2 ripe avocado, peeled, pitted, and halved
  • 1 ripe pear, cored and quartered
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 1–2 cups ice

Directions:

1. Place the grapes, honeydew, kale, spinach, banana, avocado, pear, water, and ice in a blender (in the order listed) and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and pourable. Serve immediately.

This recipe is prepared using the Ninja 72 oz Ultima Blender with Dual Stage Blending (K40232).

Go to David's Recipe Item Page for the full list of items that David has used in his recipes.

I know I’m not the only one seeing smoothie recipes pop up all over the place. In fact, out in L.A. where Mary was on Wednesday for our Red Carpet preview, smoothie stands are as plentiful as palm trees—all the stars and starlettes are drinking them. One sip of my smoothie and you’ll be ready for the red carpet…it’s a good thing Sunday’s our Golden Spatula Awards Show!

For the past two years, we’ve given “spatulettes” to our guests on In the Kitchen with David for your favorite things…moments, recipes, and special traits. It’s our way of letting you know we’re listening to your feedback and letting our guests know how important they are. It wouldn’t be fun if I gave everything away, but here are just a few teasers:

Most Pioneering Spirit: Ree Drummond

Ree Drummond couldn’t be with us this weekend, so we already sent her a spatulette for having “The Most Pioneering Spirit.” I’m a huge fan of Ree’s recipes, her blog, and her incredible photos and it’s clear you all feel the same way…we couldn’t keep her holiday book on our shelves! We’re already looking forward to the next time we see her. Our other categories include the winner of our #FoodieFoto nominees as well as our favorite moment of 2013!

Tune in at Noon ET for the big show. Here’s a blog question to noodle over until Sunday: in light of today’s smoothie recipe, what’s your favorite smoothie ingredient? Is it banana? Strawberry? Spinach?

Keep it flavorful!
—David

More Reasons to Get Excited About the Arrival of Spring!

0
0

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to put away the boots and gloves. I can’t wait for Spring and the clothes and accessories that come with it! The warmer weather means brighter colors, lighter fabrics, “al fresco” accessories and more.

There are a few things that I always look forward to putting back into rotation when Spring arrives.

New Sunglasses

A new pair of shades lets me know the warm weather is here to stay. (Be sure     to check them out, especially if you also need the help of readers)

After bundling up in socks and boots all winter, it’s nice to let the feet             breathe with a cute peep-toe shoe or sandal.

Colorful Florals

I love real flowers, but I also love floral prints. One of my favorite ways to do     floral is with accessories like scarves and bags. (One of my favorite floral handbags is from Tignanello)

A Simple Dress

It’s the easiest outfit ever. With pumps you go to work, with sandals you go     to play.

White Pants

Don’t wait for memorial day to break out your optic pants. White pants are the   perfect pick-me-up for a terrific spring look.

Those are just a few things that make my Spring list. What would you add?

I’ll see you tomorrow morning as we start getting ready for Spring!

Leah :-)

10,000 Submissions, 2,500 Miles, 1 Guy, and a Dream…

0
0

Whenever anyone asks me why I wanted to be a host at QVC, my answer is always the same “because it is my dream come true!”  From the first day I walked through the hallways here as a guest, and up until today, I knew that this was a great place and it would be an honor to work here.  In fact, I still feel my heart pitter-patter and there is an extra “pep in my step” when I walk through the doors.  How could it not be that way? It's live television!

Although the process wasn’t easy, I knew that it was worth the effort to get here.  There were 10,000 submissions of eager-to-be hosts, and many of them had television experience that I could only have dreamed of.  I lived in Southern CA, over 2,500 miles away, and wasn’t even sure how I could make the physical move happen even if I got the job!  But a voice in my head said “go for it” and every step of the way, no matter how scared I got, I promised myself I would do just that.

When I moved here in January, I was greeted with open arms from my QVC family!  It was such a great feeling to work with people who I love, admire and respect.  Friends made my birthday so special, and even in the cold weather, West Chester, PA felt so warm and cozy to me!

Then, I was paired up with Mary Beth Roe to learn all about being a host at the Q.  I had the pleasure of knowing Mary Beth as an acquaintance prior, but as you can imagine, working with her daily was truly a priceless experience!  It wasn’t long before I gave her the nickname “Fairy Godmother” because she certainly felt like one (although she is much cuter and WAY more hip)!  She is such a loving and caring person, and it was inspirational to work with someone who cares so much about people, customer service and every aspect of her job.

It was an honor to also debut on air with her during LCNY this past Wednesday!  We had such a good time, I am excited to do it again this coming Wednesday at 10am!

Thank you to everyone who tuned in to cheer me on and thank you for all of your kind messages on my Facebook page too!  I’m so grateful to be here and to serve you in any way that I can.  I’ll be posting lots of photos and thoughts as I learn more about living in this great new neighborhood!

This Won't Be Empty For Long! -- Read How Amy and Steve Are Preparing For Bree's Arrival In Just 48 Days!

Hi Everybody! Yay, it's March and that means spring is around the corner and so are babies!!  I know many people who are due in April and when I share my due date it seems there are many April Bdays out there.  Apparently summertime is the time to make babies, lol.   Our little bundle is still set for April 20th.  I'm thinking I will go late but Steve thinks I will go a day or two early.  Any bets from your end?

We've certainly been busy the month of February with many wonderful things happening.  It seems those snow days helped us get all our "nesting" done and we officially have very organized closets in our household.  Seems like there is plenty of room to move Bree into our house but I have a feeling once she does get here we will need even more room for her items.  You should see how many bottles and pacifiers this little girl has already and she isn't even in our arms yet.

Oh, the reason we have so many bottles and pacifiers was the highlight of this month, our shower!!  What a day!  It was in MD, in my hometown, and was a day filled with family, friends, food, and PINK, lol!  Steve's sis Kathy and her husband Dennis came down from NYC on the Friday night before the shower.  I was at work that evening with you for The Lisa Robertson Show and Friday Night Beauty but when I got home at 1am that night everyone had waited up for me so they could say hi.  They hadn't seen the belly in person since Christmas.  The four of us woke up Sat morning and had Panera bagels with their walnut honey cream cheese, my new pregnancy craving, yum.  We headed off to MD and by 1pm I was surrounded by a room filled with familiar faces, beautiful decorations, and lots of pink packages.  The men departed the festivities and had their own little get together in a near by bar/restaurant and we ladies all went right to food and chatter.  Always nice to see my family and this was also the first event where everyone got to meet Drew, my new nephew. He is so cute and so good, and I'm very impressed with the way my little sis Sarah has just embraced motherhood.  I'm hoping it comes that natural to me because she seems to have it down pat already.

(Here is the invitation from my shower! Don’t mind my shadow and the crease, it was in my purse!)

(A look at the shower! The favors, the presents, and the sisters! J)

After some mingling and more food it was time to open those packages.  I got a lot of help from my two nieces, Abby and Reese. One brought over the next package and the other one helped me open the new one.  There were so many thoughtful appreciated gifts!  From homemade blankets and crafts to key items like car seats and monitors. There were all the necessities like bottles, wipes, diapers, bibs, burp cloths, and first aid needs. Also some of the cutest little spring/summer outfits.  Bree was certainly taken care of and her parents were too!

(Can’t wait for this to no longer be empty!)

(Washing all her new clothes!)

We stayed in MD for a while that day but when we awoke in PA on Sunday morning I was in full blown clean up mode.  We built everything that day and cleaned it all up ,and then still managed to head out for a few more things we needed. It hit me hard that night how very much we had done, right when Downton Abbey started I said to Steve I can't keep my eyes open for this.  Even Mary and all her suitors weren't keeping me awake, lol.

I would include finished pictures of her room and bathroom but I must say it looks even messier than before we left for the shower.  There are so many things now that still need to find a home and I'm also waiting on my parents to come up one weekend to help Steve and I hang things.  By help I mean they will hang them for us, lol.  My dad is quite the Mr. Fix it handy man type and so we want to treat them to dinner while they bang out the last of the to do list for us.  Then you will see all the pics you want!

(My new family room furniture, lol!)

We did though have a small photo shoot this month with QVC.  Her room was neat and tidy just not fully decorated and they came out to capture some photos.  Steve wasn't planning to be in any but it was one of his days off so since he was here they grabbed him for a few and they ended up being my favorites.  In fact I think one I love so much that I would like to frame it.  I also bought a 2 picture frame for her room so I'm hoping to capture a pic of Bree's tiny hand in her daddy's for one slot and then the one QVC took of me looking at my belly in the other.  I thought that would be cute in her room so she knows her parents think the world of her!

(My favorite photo from the Q Photo Shoot)

(This is the one I want to use for the frame that I bought for her room.)

Really we are just counting down the days, 48 if you are reading this the first day it is posted.  Hard to believe that July we found out we were going to be parents and now we just have 7 weeks to go. I haven't had too many changes as we entered the last trimester.  I have stopped jogging as my back just can't take it anymore so I'm now officially a walker.  I still have my heart burn and I've been told that means little Bree might have a head of hair when she is here in April.  I'm still hanging tight at a weight gain of 30 pounds.  Other than the bagels with cream cheese there isn't really anything too out of the normal that I'm craving.  I do like my trail mix right now and some cereal as a late night snack.  Bran flakes and almond milk seem to be my go to.  I do have a feeling though when this weather gets better ice cream might make its way onto my list more often than it is has in winter.  I also have noticed I'm certainly more emotional.  Not necessarily in a bad way but starting to think more about parenthood in general.  I want to be a good mom, a patient mom, and do the right things for my daughter.  I've been thinking a lot about being a better role model for her and how I would like to teach  by example so that means mommy and daddy could also remember to mind their manners more, treat others better, and just take a deep breath more often rather then getting annoyed with the small things.  We are working on it, good thing we have 7 more weeks:)

(Practicing! Me and Steve with our nephew, Drew.)

I'll write again soon and hopefully by then everything will be finished and we will just be waiting for her.    Gosh, I can't wait to see and hold her and put a little kiss on the face I've been waiting to see for 9 months!  Steve said just the other day he can't to smell her, thought that was so cute.  We certainly have realized how blessed we are during this time and are grateful that you've been sharing in our journey.  More to come as our last few weeks pass by and little Bree gets closer to meeting one very large QVC family.

All my love,
Amy

Say Yes To The Vest - Check Out How Lori Goldstein Styles The LOGO TSV On Sharon And Jayne Brown!

Lori has done it again! Yes, we're talking about Today's Special Value, the LOGO V-neck Vest! Because this layer is so versatile, it can be worn with your casual day look, or add to the an elegant night on the town!!

This piece brings life to many different looks as well as many different body types. Lori, Jayne, and Sharon caught up for a one-on-one styling date. Check out how Lori styled the TSV on these two lovely ladies!

For Jayne it was all about the layering! Underneath the vest, is the black LOGO cardigan, and the yellow LOGO scoop neck top. Lori had a blast mixing and matching these layers with Jayne’s Blossom Pink vest. How Lori of her!

Here the Blossom Pink is worn solely with the Black Cardigan.

Lori takes  it down a couple buttons from the top of the cardigan to show some of the yellow color on the top!

And she does the exact same from the bottom of Jayne's cardigan to unleash some yellow into the look!

It's been a long and tough winter, which makes sense as to why Sharon was ready to take this TSV into Spring and Summer mode. Sharon layered the Seaglass colored vest over a tank top and Lori added to the look by creating some fun accessories out of a scarf!

Typically we wouldn't use one of our favorite scarves as a belt, right? Well now that Lori Goldstein has, maybe we should give it a shot!

What a fun way to add to this casual Spring outfit!

Whomever says that scarves are not spring/summer appropriate, has clearly never been styled by Lori Goldstein!

Lori ties the look together perfectly by tying the scarf for Sharon bringing an entire new level of sophistication to Sharon's original look!

So there you have it! You can you wear like THIS, or you can wear like THAT! How will you wear the LOGO TSV and incorporate it into your spring and summer wardrobe?

Thank you all SO MUCH for sharing photos of your precious fur and feathered family members!! Dogs and cats, goats and horses, birds and bunnies...they were all wonderful to see! More importantly, by sharing your photos of much loved and well-cared for pets, it sets such a great example for other pet owners and potential pet owners!

Dan and I wish we had time to show every single photo during the show, but there are so many spoiled QVC pets out there, it is impossible to do, unfortunately! We hope you will enjoy viewing each other's pets and be sure to comment on the adorable photos too!
