What One Item Do You Break Out For Spring?

$

I asked my winter weary friends what one item do they break out for Spring, that one item that signals to them that Spring is here.  For me, as I count the days to Spring, I am using a self-tanner and getting a pedicure...and I am looking forward to setting my feet free from my winter boots that they have been living in for months..look out Spring I need some sunshine for my sandals!

Jennifer, Kerstin, Jayne, Shawn, Mary Beth, and Leah also share their break out for Spring item.  SO what is the one item that you break out for Spring?

Jennifer Coffey:  Pat asked me what one item I can't wait to wear in Spring..the maxi dress is my no-brainer answer! Admittedly it's a bit chill for it now.

Kerstin Lindquist: "Nothing screams warmer, happier, sunnier days like my Dooney!!!"

Jayne Brown: White pants!!!  I have already been wearing them on the air.  When the weather breaks I can't wait to wear them all the time.  It will be nice to be wearing white instead of watching it fall from the sky or covering the ground.  LOL!

Shawn Killinger:  Me @ Harrods in London Spring/Summer 2013. My fav is maxi dresses, followed by sunglasses, and Orthaheel thong sandals!

Mary Beth Roe: Growing up in Minnesota, I am certainly use to the cold weather of Pennsylvania; however, it always brings a smile to my face when I can finally break out my sandals. I love the boost in my step that the great outdoors, added sunshine, blooming flowers and thoughts of renewal brings me.

Leah  Williams:  Now that the snow is finally melting, I’m so excited for spring! I can’t wait to break out my sling-back and peep-toe shoes. They’re a good excuse for a pedicure!

A few weekends ago, I attended a Scrapbooking Retreat with about 75 other women. This was the fourth year I participated in this event, and we had a ball!! One of my best friends, Susan, was with the Company Creative Memories, and she got me started many years ago. For me, it is my creative outlet. Most of the women who attend the event are avid scrapbookers!! And most take it very seriously!! I enjoy creating my books chronologically so that I can remember when events have happened in my life!!

I posted on Facebook about my weekend, and many of you asked to see some of my pages, so I thought my blog here on QVC would make a great venue for viewing my pages. Overall, it was a fun and productive weekend. Hopefully we will all be able to do it again next year!

Until next time—Quack, Quack!

Angel

Me and my girls from the weekend!! Jackie, Ashlee, me, Susan and Lynn! We had a great time laughing and telling stories!! The tee shirt we are wearing is a Quacker Factory tee—but I am sorry it is sold out.

Hello and what a week!! I hope you had as much fun as I did while we were out in Los Angeles.  Simply put; I am exhausted in the most wonderful way.  It seemed like I didn’t ever stop to take a breath while I was in town but to tell you the truth, I like my life that way.  Here is a week in review with some photos {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}.

Lisa and I about to take off.  Here’s a fun fact you might not have known… everyone was really nervous I was going to miss my flight.  I actually arrived at the airport early, but I thought that since we were flying out US AIR, I was in the C terminal…. Well I was wrong.  Thanks to their merger, we were in A and there was only one security line open at C.  Yes I did look at my ticket, but my only option was to take both heavy bags and walk outside.  Needless to say once through security I ran towards A and somehow made it as they were boarding zone 3.  YIKES!!

My BFF Farah lives in Los Angeles and every year that QVC is there I pretty much make her move in with me.  Farah and I had lunch at one of our fav places, Lemonade and headed over to Mark Zunino’s to try on my Red Carpet dress.  While we were there, Farah found her bridesmaids dress… hahah what do you think? Subtle right?!

#DinnerForTwo at Wolfgang Puck’s CUT.  I think it says a lot about someone who owns a restaurant that goes to every table in the room to make sure everyone was having a nice time.  What a gentlemen.  I think this is the best salad I have ever eaten.

Huge Shout out to Sarah Pomtempa and Tarte doing my hair and makeup.  It took a village and these girls made me feel like a princess! For hair inspiration Sarah took the headband and made it a tiara which was all kinds of fun.  Based off my dress I went to Tarte’s Instragram and found an artist’s work and went from there.  Cool right?!

This was the first year we have ever had a preshow and I was so lucky to be able to host it… but I was also very nervous!  Still to this day, a lot of people don’t realize we are like 24 hours a day, and we didn’t really know how the preshow was going to end up…. We just thought we would see where it would go.  It was such a thrill! We don’t use teleprompters at all here at the Q… so here his is a behind the scenes photo of our producer trying to tell me something.  Ha!

Celeb Crush, Nick Canon.  He was so nice and a snazzy dresser!  I stopped dead in my footsteps when Miss Piggy walked by me.  I don’t think I’ll ever be the same.  Yes, she’s even more beautiful in person!

Great way to end the night.   Sandra, Lisa, and I really did think this was the best Red Carpet Style event yet.  Here is a photo of me telling a funny story about George and I didn't realize we were out of time.  We have so many monitors and I thought we had a few minutes remaining in our broadcast, but I was looking at the wrong clock! Oops!!  The last picture is with my girlfriends.  Some traveled far and near to be with me on this special night and I am beyond happy to have them in my life.  Cheers to a great show {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}.

PM STYLE:

When I was out in Cali I was really inspired by the easy sense of style I saw out there.  Two options for tonight.  Lori Goldstein’s TSV with knit top in Spring Colors OR the Susan Graver Maxi worn as a dress with a jean jacket.  Decisions, decisions.  See you tonight!!

TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE WINTER!!

HELLO!  ST. TROPEZ FANS!!!!

TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE WINTER!!

Its Spring /Summer 2014 ST. TROPEZ STYLE!!!

This year we have a super-size choice of the award winning Self Tan regular mousse or the new dark super- sized for the first time ever.  The richest darkest, decadent indulgent, mousse ever created! Check out the models on March the 7th and choose your flavour!

St. Tropez won the QVC Customer Choice Award for the Best Self Tan!  So excited, proud as a peacock,  another trophy for ST TROPEZ HQ, this will be the 94th award (in two years may I add),  we have won so far and counting.

I have been part of this product since its birth and I feel like its Fairy God Mother . I want you to have the ultimate glow and get the most out of your product so follow these easy steps and you cannot go wrong. For your ultimate glow you will need ST TROPEZ SELF TAN MOUSSE – TAN APPLICATOR MITT- BODY MOISTURISER- EXFOLIATOR – CLEANSING WIPES

·         Step 1:  Make sure your skin is free of product especially deodorant (self-tan over deodorant can look Shrek like) Exfoliation is key as the better condition your skin is in the better the tan will look and last.  If you wax you will remove your tan, you must wait a day before re applying. A self- tan can sit into freshly waxed pores so please wait a day. Shaving before and after is not a major problem.

·         Step 2: Moisturize all dry areas first – elbows, knees, whole of the foot, back of the heel, and whole of the hand, wrist and any other major dry areas.

·         Step 3 Put on the secret weapon - ST TROPEZ Tan Applicator Mitt .

o   The mitt opens up so slide your hand in and  pump the mousse onto the white side. The mitt should be clean and dry so simply rinse under the tap and air dry between uses.

I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE TO TAN EVERYWHERE – I MEAN EVERYWHERE -  TIP TO TOE. EVERY SINGLE BIT OF SKIN,  YOU WILL LOOK AND FEEL SLIM, TRIM AND HEALTHY BEYOND BELEIEF, TRUST ME.

·         Step 4- Shake the mousse and pump approximately 2 pumps per limb. Use a flat hand and a light stroke and glide the mousse over each limb.

o   REFILL YOUR MITT AS YOU GO. YOU CAN NEVER USE TOO MUCH PRODUCT AS THE SKIN WILL ONLY ABSORB A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TANNING AGENT. ST TROPEZ IS PURE GENIOUS! AS LONG AS THE SKIN IS COVERED THE TAN WILL ALWAYS DEVELOP  EVENLY.

o   MY TOP TIP – Always have enough mousse on the mitt so that you can effortlessly glide the product onto the skin. This will also make application quick and fast. If you ever feel that you are dragging at the skin you are simply not using enough product. You can never use too much product.

·         Step 5 – Start with the legs and stop at the ankles. Using the excess mousse on the mitt glide over the feet making sure to blend in between the toes. Take a cleansing wipe and wipe toe cuticles and nails ( self-tan will stain nails and cuticles yellow, not a natural look, so wipe)

·         Step 6 – Tan that torso and your neck. Flat hand light strokes slather that mousse on.

·         Step 7 – Reverse the mitt so that the white side is on the back of your hand. Stretch your arm around the back and tan that back .Yoga classes can help but if you struggle find a friend or go on QVC.COM and buy ST TROPEZ Bronzing Spray with its 360 degree nozzle it will spray upside down for those hard to reach areas.

·         Step 8 – At this stage I would apply your facial moisturiser, eye serums whatever your normal face skin care routine is. Shortly we will be tanning the face but I want to let your face products settle in first. Re apply more moisturizer to your hands and back of wrists, by this stage the moisturiser will  have sunk in so re apply.

·         Step 9 – Tan the arms making sure everywhere is covered. Under the arms and even into those arm pits EVERY WHERE IS COVERED. NO ONE WILL KNOW YOU ARE WEARING A SELF TAN. ITS YOURS, YOU OWN IT, Using the excess mousse on the mitt (or take a pee sized amount if no excess left )  apply to the hands blending in-between fingers and also remember to tan the sides of the hands. Wipe your nails and cuticles. Because the award winning mousse dry’s in 60 seconds flat it will be fine to swap the mitt over to the other side and tan the last hand. Finally take a cleansing wipe and wipe the palms and use a tiny bit of moisturiser to blend from the palm about 5 mm up the wrist for a crease free seamless natural NO ONE WILL KNOW look.

·         Step 10 – Your facial moisturisers/serums would of sunk nicely into the skin by now so using your bare hands or the ST TROPEZ BABY FACE APPLICATOR (QVC.COM) Apply a pump and spread evenly over the face working in light circular motions.  Go all around the eye and under the eye to hide dark circles.  Be careful around the hair line and brows if you have fair/grey or bleached hair like me.  I simply apply a little bit more moisturiser around my hairline to prevent any staining and if eyebrows are fair I wipe over with a Q-tip .

So your tan will dry in 60 seconds .  You can get dressed and look fabulous!  I would advise leaving the tan as long as possible without washing a good eight hours will do the trick . Too get the best longevity out of your glow sleep with it on before showering. While we sleep our pores open up and our body temperature heat up really allowing the product to get to work and develop too its full potential.  When you wake from your slumber you will look like sleeping beauty as returned from her jet set ST TROPEZ VACATION.

I do hope you have as much pleasure out of ST TROPEZ as my clients and I.  It really is a life changing product that is great for a CONFIDENT, HAPPY SOUL!

Don’t forget we’ll be here answering your questions all day, so ask away!

Happy tanning!  With Love,  Sophie

Hello, foodies…

The fun continues onIn the Kitchen with David. Our Road Trip contest starts tomorrow! Last year, we were warmly welcomed by the folks in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Lifetime resident Dwight wrote and told us we had to eat at Haab’s Restaurant, and so we did. It turned out to be a trip we’ll never forget. And, we had so much fun there that we awarded Ralph, Ypsilanti City Manager, a golden spatula this past Sunday. The category was: Favorite Foodie Destination of 2013.

Now, "Fall In!" It’s time for Road Trip 2014 and we went to support military families and the communities they call home. Tell us all about the military base in your town and why it’s important to your community. And, because we’re always hungry for new recipes, tell us about a dish that’s unique to your area. Whether it’s a military wife special or a local restaurant favorite, we want to hear about it!

We have to have you read the official rules because our legal team is very thorough. And I have to tell you that you must be 18 or older to enter; void where prohibited. No purchase necessary. Now the fun part—email us your entry at davidsroadtrip@qvc.com before Sunday, March 30. We’ll review your entries, scout out the locations, and then pay a visit in May—just in time for Memorial Day!

Keep it flavorful!

Mom and Me in Ireland

My Mother loved all things Irish, and it was her dream to travel there someday. So, in the spring of 1988, we decided to go together! We booked a tour through AAA travel, got our passports (my first) and flew on a small plane to New York to board the overnight flight to Shannon.

I remember waking up from a fitful sleep to the smell of coffee and the sun peeking in the windows.  As the pilot announced we were approaching Shannon airport, I couldn't believe the shades of green in the landscape below. We landed, were met by our wonderful driver, Patrick, and headed to our first hotel outside Ennis. While the rest of our tour mates opted to sleep in, Mom and I headed to the folk park near Bunratty Castle. Mom was thrilled to find a shop that featured her family name, Cahill! That night we went back to Bunratty for the Castle dinner, and afterwards agreed there couldn't be a better first night in Ireland.

But our favorite part of our trip was when we got to County Kerry.  The weather was mild and sometimes sunny! We stopped in Kilorglin and met a little donkey ready to haul the turf from the fields.

We had the best lunch of soup, brown bread and coffee in a pub in Dingle, and loved the sheep dotting the cliffs on the Ring of Kerry.  My Mom was thrilled that so many of the Irish people we met would ask her, "So you've come home!"  They thought she was born in Ireland with her red hair and green eyes, and she did fit right in!

But my favorite photo from the trip isn't against one of the breathtaking backgrounds of Ireland. It was taken by the self-timer on my camera in the hotel in Cork.  I guess you could call it an original "selfie!" It captures the joy we felt every day in the land we dreamed of visiting.  We are all smiles, hands clasped, enjoying every minute together!  And when she passed away only 2 1/2 years later, I knew she took a bit of Ireland to heaven, and I was so happy I had memories of our trip to last a lifetime!

How We Ate in LA

Let me start with diners. I love diner food. Eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausages: all of it. What’s special about California diner food is you get incredibly fresh sides like big, gorgeous bowls of fresh fruit. And then they have red, juicy tomato slices and thick, green avocado wedges just garnishing your omelet. I could get used to this.

Mexican food. Traditional Mexican food. Not crazy amounts of cheese or super, deep-fried. California Mexican food has a brightness of citrus, rich peppers, and savory marinated meats. I had a chicken fajita plate at El Coyote that made me squeal when it showed up at the table. No foolin', I have photographic proof thanks to my buddy Lauren. More is not always more and this was perfectly delicious.

We also got the chance to have dinner with some of our beloved ITKWD West Coast Foodie Chatters! Ginny, Kathy, Angie, Rachel, Jonathan and I had dinner at the Pink Taco in Los Angeles and it was GREAT. The best part about the whole night was being able to chat with my 2-and-a-half-year friends for the FIRST TIME in person! Such a wonderful night.

Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills - what can I say? We were overwhelmed with the greatness that is the food and service at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. It's not shee-shee food. It's really good food in a fancy dress and an up-do. You know all the flavors and ingredients, but it’s like your best girlfriend on her wedding day: you've never seen her look THIS GOOD.

We made great friends with Executive Chef Ashley James and he took incredible care of us. You saw him on Wednesday's ITKWD talking #QVCRedCarpet food. Before the show, he let us try a few appetizers that we chatted about in my previous blog. Then, when we were done, the chef gave us a big smile and said, "Want some dinner?" We shouted, "YES!"

We started with Kale Salad (strong chickpeas, bright & fresh oil, sun-packed, sun-dried tomatoes, and chipper artichokes).

The main course was salmon with impossibly perfect grapefruit & orange slices, charred potatoes, caramelized onions, and a tomato-based sauce that was so good it made my hair part the other way. Bright and fruity. The guy makes his own ketchup when you order fries: he speaks FLUENT tomato.

Okay, time for dessert: do your stretches. Two choices came out: Chocolate Gelato Pie and a layered Peanut Butter Caramel Trifle. Thought I might just have to slap somebody. I don't think I'm articulate enough to do that Gelato Pie justice, but I'll do my best. When you want DESSERT, and you want CHOCOLATE, and you want to celebrate: this is what your tummy is looking for. The chocolate was perfect, there were little bits of meringue swirled in, there was fresh, thick whipped cream on top, and caramel drizzled, well, everywhere. Ever eaten something so good that it makes you want to start shouting non-sensical things? I have now. I didn't want to share. I wanted to eat as much of that dessert as I could, then shove the rest in my pockets and RUN.

I may have also tried the peanut butter…how could I? It looked subtle, but had some serious spunk. Layers of caramel, mascarpone, hand-whipped cream, peanut butter, and topped with candied, roasted peanuts. Perfect crunch, perfect sweetness, absolute balance. Bravo, Chef: WOW and thank you.

California treated us so right. Selfishly, it's wonderful to find so many gluten-free choices. As our Foodie Chatter buddy, Ginny, showed me: you can even find amazing gluten-free macaroons! YUM!

Also, and I knew this, but I needed the reminder: fresh really is the key to my foodie heart. I loved all the fresh fruits and vegetables so much. They have them year-round in CA (luckies!), but don't be sad: we east-coasters are staring down the neck of Spring. And fresh fruits and veggies? Yeah, we're coming for YOU.  ~ Mary QVC

Let's Do Some Spring Cleaning--and Let's Start with Your Closets!

$

0

Happy March! Soon we’ll be smelling colorful tulips and watching robins build nests. Doesn't that sound refreshing? One of the not-so-happy things to think about (depending on your personality) might be spring cleaning. I have mixed feelings about it—on one hand, it feels SO nice to have a fresh, clean home when you're done. On the other hand, it’s a LOT of work.

For the month of March in our You're Home with Jill blogs, I thought it would be helpful if we tackled one room at a time...cleaning and organizing as we go. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a hundred times: be realistic with your cleaning. I don’t think there are many of us who have time (or energy!) to clean an entire house—inside and out—in one day or one weekend. I take 15 minute here and 15 minutes there. Maybe an hour here; an hour there. If you do what you can, when you can, the work will be done before you know it.

Let’s start with your closets, shall we? At one time, your closet contents were probably neat, organized, and smelling like clean, crisp cotton. And now? I'm gonna bet they're not so picture-perfect. I'll tackle the clutter in a minute. First, let's talk about the smell. My grandmother knew how to keep your closet smelling clean and I’ve found it’s still the most effective way to do it. Soap sachets!

Soap Sachets

I made these pretty sachets from some long scraps of fabric! And, I didn’t sew anything. I just pressed a small fold of fabric in on all four sides and then just hot glued the seams. Next, I folded the fabric in half and glued the sides, making a pouch. I put a bar of fragrant soap in one pouch and dried lavender sprigs in the other. I tied pretty bows around the tops of the bags.

Do you also have a drawer full of soap from past hotel stays? This is a perfect way to use them! Place a sachet on the top shelf of your closet and let the fragrance do its thing. If you can’t smell a difference in a few days, add a second bag. You can also use these in drawers, in toy bins, trunks, or your hubby’s stinky shoes. :)

You might also try some investing in some wicker baskets to hold those “extras” that seem to accumulate by the day. If they’re not in your budget, however, consider covering several boxes with scrapbook paper or fabric. And, try rolling towels and clothes to fit more on the same shelves. But, better yet, make time to go through your clothes and clean out what you don’t wear.

I feel liberated after I clean out my closet. As you start transitioning into those spring clothes, ask yourself as you pack away those sweaters and coats, if you really wore it. And, if so, how often. If you didn’t wear it more than once last season, or you know it fit 15 lbs ago, donate it. If you take the time to do this now, you won’t have to do it next winter and you’ll immediately know what you need to add to your lineup.

We’re headed to the kitchen next Tuesday! For all of you who came out to the flower show, THANK YOU! It was SO nice to meet you.

 From my home to yours,
—Jill

Tune in this afternoon at 3pmE/12pmP for "Craft Corner"!!!  Click here -> (QVC Crafts) to see all the great crafting items we will have in store for you!

Ever since I was a little girl - I loved playing with paper, stickers, glue and - of course - glitter!  As an adult - that love has never left me!  Now I'm so excited that I can share that love with my daughter Theresa!

When Theresa and I had the chance to play with some of the items in the show - we were thrilled!  Since Theresa's Godmother Carolyn Gracie is hosting the show - Theresa wanted to make some nice things for her!  (So sweet!)

First, she wanted to let Carolyn know how much she loves her!  So we had a great time creating these two cards! We loved making them.  The white core paper is AMAZING!  We had a great time making all the "pieces"!

Then she traced her hands to make this next card!  Theresa loved folding the paper into an accordion!

Finally, she wanted to make something with a picture the two of them together.  We choose a photo at her baptism.  I love this picture of the two of them!!! So happy!!!  Then she added her own stickers for extra color!

She's already asked me to tape the show today - because she wants to see all the "pretty" things everyone makes!

Thank you all for sending me your suggestions for future crafting items!  I'm so excited that you are happy that crafting has returned to QVC!

Please feel free - ANYTIME - to send me your crafting ideas, pictures and suggestions to my Facebook Page -> www.facebook.com/jacqueqvc

AND check my Facebook page on Friday's for my weekend "Get Crafty" project ideas!

If you can't watch "Craft Corner" at 3pmE/12pmP - tape it or check back online at QVC.com to see the videos of each item!

I can't wait!!!  I'll be watching from home - and thinking of something fun to make with Theresa when she gets home from school!

Let's "Get Crafty"!

Maureen already has such a classic look to her—I absolutely love her long, red hair and doll-like skin, so I really only needed to enhance this for the red carpet. In order to keep her skin looking radiant, I mixed a little maracuja oil with Amazonian clay full coverage foundation and pressed it into her skin with my fingers.  Then, using the maracujacreaseless concealer, I highlighted under her eyes and set everything with Amazonian clay finishing powder.

She loves to contour, so I used the sculptor along her jawline and under her cheek bones to give added definition. Then, I lightly buffed Park Ave Princess Matte Waterproof bronzer along her hairline to gently warm up her skin.  For a dewy pop of color, I dabbed cheek stain in exposed on the apples of her cheeks.

Maureen loves a matte eye look, so I used a matte vanilla color on her lids, followed by a light dusting of matte Park Ave Princess in her creases to add warmth. Then, I darkened her outer corners and lower lash line in a rich, matte chocolate brown shade.  I finished her eyes by defining her lashes with a thin line of Amazonian Clay Liner and 2 coats of Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara.

I gave her lips a slight pop of color with our Amazonian butter lipstick in plummy rose.

After seeing Courtney’s dress, I knew we had to create something super glamorous.  To keep the look young and fresh, I wanted to add a pop of color. I used our be Mattenificent cc palette to add a hint of purple to her crease.  I smoked out her outer corners and bottom lash line using the deepest plum color mixed with a touch of black.

I highlighted her inner corners, lined her eyes with Amazonian clay waterproof liner with double-ended brush in brown, and then applied 3 coats of Lights, Camera, Flashes statement mascara to make her eyes pop.

To achieve Courtney’s glowing skin, I prepped her complexion with tarte’s maracuja oil.  Then I buffed Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation on top.  For a dewy highlight, I applied Maracuja Creaseless concealer under her eyes.  To set all liquid makeup, I dusted Amazonian clay finishing powder, and then contoured her face with the sculptor contouring face slenderizer in park ave princess. To bring a flush of color to her cheeks, I swept Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in dollfaceover the apples of her cheeks.

Since I wanted the focus to be on her smoldering eyes, I kept her lips nude with a layer of LipSurgence Lip Shine in Desired. It’s the perfect peachy, nude shade and complement to a smoky eye.

Adam And I Take The QVC Red Carpet! -- Recap From Our Visit To LA.

We've been back to our normal lives, in our normal time zone for a couple of days now, but my husband and I are still talking and reminiscing about what an amazing time we had in LA for the QVC Red Carpet event. While we were both new to the Red Carpet scene, I must say that my husband Adam adjusted quite well and made the most of his experience. Actually now that I think about it, he might have been the MVP of QVC's Red Carpet!

If you are a fan of my Facebook page, you'll know that our departure didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped. Due to some snowy weather, we experienced a number of flight delays and actually had to board two different planes before leaving the Philadelphia airport!

When taking into the flight delay and the time zone change, we finally arrived at LAX at around 8 pm; Just in time for dinner at Chaz Dean's house! I know I already shared an entire blog from this night, so I'll only include one photo taken from the evening!

The next morning I was scheduled to have a facial at the infamous Kate Somerville Health Experts Clinic in West Hollywood. Kate's treatment is a celebrity must-have when it comes to prepping for the Red Carpet, so I was more than excited to be receive this A-List pampering!

After my luxurious and relaxing visit to Kate's clinic, I was summoned to work-- and by work I mean meet with our amazing guests/designers while witnessing the Wetherly Garden at the Four Seasons transform into a glamorous Red Carpet arena.

After the walk through, my husband I met up with girls from Tarte to grab some dinner. This was the first night in four years that Adam and I went out without the kids!

The next morning/afternoon, before the start to the Red Carpet festivities, Adam and I went to The Grove for lunch. If you've never been before, you should check it out-- It was like the mall version of Disney World!

Then it was off to get ready for the big event! Starting with a "before" picture, here is how my look came together!

Then it was time to hit the Red Carpet! Obviously I was there for "work," but you'll find that my husband made the most of his solo time mingling on the Red Carpet!

It is almost time for summer sandals. Yay!!! Sandals can be a great way to add a pop of color or make your legs look longer. Here are some tips on how to do both in this two-video set. The videos also give you a sneak peek at this week's G.I.L.I.(TM) shoes that are going to be available at the beginning of the show.

We also wanted to add a video on the new Tatcha Serum, debuting this week as well, so enjoy! It's a "3 for 1" video blog. :)

See you Friday at 10pm ET for The Lisa Robertson Show!

The QVC Red Carpet Event was filled with so much glam from the designers to makeup to the celebrities and of course, the hair! I was honored to have the opportunity to style all the hair for the models and Courtney Cason for the evening.

The inspiration for the hair looks came from the gorgeous styles of iconic old Hollywood. This included vintage soft waves, deep side parts, faux bobs and sleek updos, all with a hint of sparkle. Here are some of our behind the scenes photos from the event and tips on how to get the looks:

Get the Look: Soft Vintage Waves

Beachwave your hair and pin into a set

Allow to cool and remove clips

Brush with an On Set Styling Brush to soften curls

Add some sparkle with a headband

Get the Look: Glamorous Updo

Create a bun with a Wrap Up or Half Up

(Add more than one bun for a more elaborate updo)

Place in the headband

Hairspray

Get the Look: Faux Bob

Pull hair through wrap up

Roll under to create a fuax bob

Use bobby pins to pin into place

Hairspray

Get the Look: Braided Top Knot

Beachwave hair

Braid up the back of the head

Wrap Up hair into bun

Pin braid around bun

Add headband
