Hi, foodies…
As we make our way through the first month of the year, it’s always fun to look back and think about the highlights of last year. One of the best parts of my job is coming up with fun recipes that I think ya’ll will enjoy as much as I do, and 2013 was filled with so many that I was proud of. Your feedback is what helps me cook the types of dishes I know you love, so I’m hoping that you’ve taken a look at our Customer Favorites Survey. I can’t wait to see which recipe you crown as the winner!
Today isn’t a regular blog day for me, but I’ve been seeing so many “top 10’s” on Pinterest that I wanted to make a special one for you. As you know, I post all of my recipes on my Pinterest boards, and we’ve come up with the ITKWD Top 10 Most Pinned Recipes of 2013. Let’s count down from 10…
10. Ricotta & Mascarpone Cheesecake
This recipe is so light & fluffy with a crispy cookie crust. It’s the perfect make-ahead dessert & pairs perfectly with any fruit—try adding your favorite preserves on top for a tangy twist!
Looks like you foodies like starting the day off with something sweet and cold! This decadent drink was a real hit. If super sweet isn’t your thing, you can always skip the whipped cream and the chocolate drizzle.
I’m not surprised this one was so loved—not only is it cool and refreshing, it’s pretty too! If you can’t wait for summer to make this, there’s no harm in transporting yourself to a tropical state of mind now, during the colder months. If you can’t find the fresh fruit in your grocery store, frozen works just as well.
Great for any time of the year, this stick-to-your-ribs dish is perfect for your family’s Tex-Mex cravings! Plus, the canned ingredients make it a great spur-of-the-moment meal.
6. Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Sandwiches
Almost-homemade strawberry ice cream made this a standout dessert option in 2013! These are so adorable and perfect for a kid’s party, a backyard BBQ, or just a Tuesday night.
What would you do for a… Klondike® bar trifle! This extravagant bowl of sweet is truly an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink dessert. All your favorites, beautifully presented for a crowd.
I know exactly why these little deviled chicks made the top 5 in 2013—they’re an Easter snack that’s both cute and delicious!
We’ve got a lot of Eggplant lovers out there! This number 3 most pinned recipe is so hearty and is loved by both vegetarian and meat eaters. It freezes well, and gets so much flavor from my homemade marinara sauce.
We all loved Divine Swine month in October, and this simple and classic Pasta Carbonara stole the show. It’s so easy to make and all of the ingredients are most likely in your house already. I’m so excited to see that my foodies love bacon as much as I do.
And the number one most pinned recipe of 2013 is…
Are you surprised? Who knew that this crunchy, green veggie would be so loved? The tangy, herbed dressing screams summertime, and of course—you can’t go wrong with bacon in a salad. This recipe was so popular that it was pinned almost twice as many times as the #2 pin! Though great for a picnic or BBQ, this would make a nice Easter side dish as well.
So, those were the shining stars of Pinterest last year. It was so fun to go back and look at all the good food we ate together! Did you re-pin any of these tasty treats?
Thank you for making 2013 incredible—and I can’t wait to see what tops the list in 2014!
Keep it Flavorful!
