These cupcakes look so cute as a centerpiece on a holiday table. And with two different flavors of nests, guests get to choose their favorite!

Cupcakes:

1 box vanilla or yellow butter cake mix

Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box

1 can vanilla frosting

Chocolate & Peanut Butter Nests:

1 (12-ounce) bag of chow mein noodles

1 (12-ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 (12-ounce) bag peanut butter chips

Cadbury mini eggs, Whoppers mini robin eggs or jelly beans

Coconut Nests:

1 (14-ounce) bag flaked coconut

Food coloring

Cadbury mini eggs, Whoppers mini robin eggs or jelly beans

Preheat oven to 350°

  1. Place paper cupcake liners in two temp-tations® 6-cup muffin pans.
  2. Make cupcakes according to package directions. Top each cupcake with frosting.
  3. To make chocolate & peanut butter nests, measure out equal parts chow mein noodles to chocolate/peanut butter chips. Melt chips in a temp-tations® bowl in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stir till smooth, and add chow mein noodles. Mix to combine. Drop small mounds of mixture on a parchment-lined cookie sheet or Lid-It®, gently press 3 mini candy eggs into center of each, and let harden (or refrigerate). Gently press hardened nests onto frosted cupcakes.
  4. To make coconut nests, add 1 cup flaked coconut to a small ziploc bag. Add 1-2 drops of your choice of food coloring, close the bag and gently toss the coconut mixture until desired color is reached. (Repeat process with more coconut, different food coloring options and ziploc bags to create more colors.) Gently mound coconut on top of frosted cupcakes, and add 3 mini candy eggs in middle of each

Hope you enjoy these adorable treats!

XO,

Tara
