Wow! Has it really been 20 years since I was first on the air at QVC? Yes! It has been 20 years! Hard for me to believe. But, in April 1995, exactly 20 years ago, I had my first show with Mary Beth Roe. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a food show. I sold a spiral-cut ham. One word sums it up. Disaster! At the time, I simply didn't know how deeply I disliked cured pork. I took a bite and immediately make a face… as the camera zoomed in! Thankfully, Mary Beth swooped in just as I reached for a napkin to discretely spit it out! (Yes, I know. Very classy!)
LOTS of things have changed in 20 years. QVC is now global. Our studio is the most advanced in the world. We are the undisputed leader in the industry. QVC is on practically every social media platform..(side note….when did the “number sign” become known as “hash tag”. No matter, I have embraced this new way of communicating. Here goes… my first effort "to trend"… #thisoldbroadistotallyconfusedbutistryingtokeepupwiththeyoungpeopleatQVC
Too much??)
All jokes aside, while there have been numerous changes over the years at QVC, many things have stayed the same. And for that, I am so thankful! 20 years ago, people at QVC genuinely cared for each other. They still do. 20 years ago, the focus was on the customer. It still is. 20 years ago, QVC generously gave back to the community. It still does!
I've heard it said many times before, "It’s sweeter the second time around." I never really knew what that meant. But, today I do. I’m so thankful to be back. So grateful for my QVC family. So happy to get to be connected with YOU again. So blessed to be home.
So, here’s to another 20 years together!! Hey, why not dream big? And when we reach that milestone, let’s have a giant party. All of us! Potluck!! Of course, I’ll bring the ham!
Much love and keep smiling!
Lisa
