Pool’s open! This past Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day—84 and sunny! It was like the perfect summer day (even though it’s still spring) and we took the first plunge of the season. My sister and nieces were the first in and later we fired up the grill (there’s nothing like a hot dog on the grill – yum!).
Our pool is relatively new to us (we’ve had it for three years), and we still love to open it as early as possible. It’s heated, so we don’t have to wait for the water to warm up to jump right in. It takes a good bit of time to open it. We have a service that comes and removes the cover and stores it for the winter, but my husband, James, has the tricky task of balancing the chemicals. We both did a ton of prep to get the pool and patio ready: setting up and cleaning off the furniture and umbrellas (GP66 to the rescue!]), and unpacking the towels I had stored in vacuumed-sealed bags so they’d be fresh and ready to go. Last year we learned a few tricks to help make the whole process seamless and easy and we were in our suits and ready to take a dip in no time.
We named our pool the “Eagle View Resort” in honor of the American Bald Eagle that stopped by for a visit two years ago.
My husband uses the pool for exercise, but I love to cool off on hot summer days and relax poolside. It’s the perfect spot for pool parties with friends and family and enjoying some downtime with just our family.
