I am pretty much always eager to travel somewhere even more so when the place I'm travelling to is rich in history, flavor, color, and spice. I recently returned from such a place ..... Puerto Rico. So I thought this week's PM Style blog would be the perfect vehicle to share my “Top 20 Travel Picks” for Summer 2015 with you ...
1. Heys Luggage Set (pssst, check out our TSV)
I live for hard sided luggage. All I travel with. Lighter, sturdier. The best. Cool prints and patterns too!
2. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue
Get on whatever wait list you can for this magical new tinted gel moisturizer SPF thing. It’s crazy amazing!
3. Vionic sandal Tatiana / Vionic Karina
I take my Vionics on every summer trip. They are awesome for looking cute, while treating your feet with science so you don’t dread hours and hours of sightseeing. Pompei, Italy was the biggest test for me and baby, they were heroic.
Recently lost my wallet for 2 hours at a Z Galerie store. Was worst 2 hours I have spent in long time. My habit of not carrying handbags is starting to backfire in scary ways so since I think backpacks are the new cool “cross body”, I’m ordering this one. Sporty chic over sundresses while ambling around cute towns with a camera and shopping bags.
5. Vera Bradley Bag and Vera Bradley Duffel
I live for the Vera travel and weekender bags. I take them on every long trip, road trip, cross country trip, int’l trip…including the daily trip I take from the QVC parking lot into the building :) I carry one every day to transport all my work clothes and essentials into the Q.
6. Julep nails
Julep polymer gel coat is the greatest invention on earth next to air conditioning and the internet. Yes I’m exaggerating, but still. It dries your nails and makes them glass like and smudge proof in abt 2 min flat. I never do my nails without it. This combo has the most awesome color in it because it’s fantastic for both toes and fingers. Proof: I just had a nearly identical color painted on my nails for Puerto Rico (Bc I couldn’t get this set shipped to me in time)
TULA is one of my new skincare favs bc it’s powered by Probiotic technology. And travel size skincare is key when you hit the road or skies bc the biggie at-home sizes are too bulky and heavy for luggage. I particularly love their Day-Night cream. yes, a 2 in 1, very cool.
8. Philosophy Supersize & travel Size Duo
You know I swear by Philosophy. I have never left home without Purity and Microdelivery Wash. I simply cannot breathe without these.
This is the brand’s fully featured travel size version which I think I have shared in every possible show and blog and gift list etc, that it is the #1 best product I discovered 8 yrs ago when I joined QVC.
10. Supergoop Sun Defying Sunscreen Oil
I’ve had Melanoma skin cancer, not fun. Don’t tell my dermo, but despite losing part of my toe to it, I still allow myself 1-2 vacations a year where I hang in the sun albeit under great protection. Sunscreen is a must, and SuperGoop is awesome bc it is anti aging skincare too. Plus doesn’t clog pores!
11. Emjoi MicroPedi - Your toenail polish may last weeks without chipping but if you’re like me, calluses return within 2 days or your fancy pedi. This heroic little device painlessly removes calluses and is a packable friend to keep your sandal feet looking good when you’re home away from home.
Just told my college friend, Lori to get this bc she asked which tanner I’m currently loving. I doused my body in this awesome mousse a day before we left for PR. Great stuff, tan lasts 4x longer than most if you apply it 3 times within 24 hours-48 hours
13. GILI Obi Belt - I own two colors. I used to think belts were a weird meaningless accessory. I love this one. Goes over every dress skirt tunic caftan etc to give you a cute waist and the Kimono belt thing is very chic and beach friendly
Here I am with my PM Style Facebook "Chat Sister", Erin wearing theOBI belt above and the jumpsuit below - BOOM BOOM! : )
Own it in black. Size up!! Perfect way to look pulled together without wearing tight uncomfortable pants. And Jumpers are very chic so this with the OBI belt is a fashion slam dunk on holiday that can do flats or heels brilliantly and bc it’s a silky poly fabric, it’s so friendly for hot weather.
15. GILI Ponte Knit Assym Hem Top
Own two colors. Love with jeans for casual or a skirt for dress up. I love the fabric, it’s this stretchy scuba ponte knit stuff. Extremely flattering!
Please don’t use the dryer attached to the wall of the hotel. It is so damaging to your hair and doesn’t have the power or technology to do your 'do' justice. Travel dryers can be pretty wimpy with only one benefit - they fold and are small. Wait that’s two. Nonetheless, this one is 1000watts and has the same power as many full size dryers. You will love it. And if you save space and weight by not taking your full size dryer, you can buy more souvenirs. Score.
17. Sole Society Wedge “Jenny”
Perfect shoe for sundresses and jeans and nighttime dress up. I’ve worn them for 3 straight hours on air so I can attest to their comfort. Plus I likey the pricey.
I have long sworn by Nick’s SHINE spray. I use it every day. Gives your hair that shiny youthful look while taming frizzy humid hair fly a ways. Perfect still is this collection that comes with travel sizes
I take shine spray everywhere! Currently have a few in my bathroom.
Took them to Turks & Caicos and fought over them with BFF Jenny.
20. Lori Grenier travel Perfume spray bottles
Awesome. Wish I had invented them. Solves an age old problem. Use mine all the time. Friend first gave me fancier version that cost 3 times as much.
See you Monday Night for PM Style and if you’ve missed anything so far, you can check out my collection here.
