The art on the walls in my house makes me happy! Each picture or painting has a special story or meaning. What hangs on the walls is what helps make my house a home. I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you and the reasons why I love them. I hope you enjoy! :-)

California Girl -- the friend who gave me this painting said that it had a “California vibe” just like me. No matter where else I live, I’m a California Girl at heart!

Turned On Its Side -- If you look closely you might notice that this abstract piece is a little bit “off”. The picture was actually designed to be hung horizontally, but it was the perfect size to fill a narrow wall, so I hung it sideways to fit the vertical space -- don’t tell...

Pier 1 Deal -- I love a good bargain as much as I love a colorful painting. The frame on this piece had a slight bow (nothing that couldn’t be fixed with a hammer and nails), so the price was a steal. And I love how cheery this floral picture makes my office feel.

The Family -- Jackson-Collins is a favorite artist of mine. I call this piece, the family because there are three people and two sets of eyes -- they’re all connected. Family!

Wash Day -- I’m old enough to remember when hanging wash on a clothesline was commonplace. :-) My Godmother game me this serigraph called “Wash Day”. She has the very same piece in her house.

Pigtails -- I wore my hair like this as a little girl. Something about the way the artist captured that feeling makes this a piece I enjoy every time I look at it.

Making Music -- This vibrant work on canvas is one of the first things you see when you walk into my house. I like to think it encourages good times!

I Know The Way Home -- This modern watercolor vase and fruit bowl painting hangs in my kitchen, because every kitchen needs fruit and flowers!

Yellow is My Favorite Color -- This was a birthday gift, and the artist signed it for me when I met him at a gallery. He said he wasn’t surprised I was drawn to this piece. And on the back of my painting he wrote: “To Leah, what I say believe me... you truly are a light”. Jackson-Collins. This is my absolute favorite of all!

I hope you'll join me in the morning for AM Beauty and AM Style.

Warm wishes,
