Mood: Lazy :)
What's in my Contigo travel mug: Green Mountain Nantucket Blend
We are loving the long, lazy days of summer here at the Epps home! Our summer has gotten off to a great start so far. We are enjoying each and every moment with family and friends.
The kiddos have had some late sleeping mornings (like today!) which is something we can't really enjoy during the school year. The morning schedule to get all seven of us up and out the door from September through June leaves me feeling like a crazed drill sergeant. Barking out orders and rushing around to make sure everything is taken care of often leaves me breathless and my head spinning.
After a family meeting we all decided this summer was the time to sit back and relax. Instead of packing the summer with camps and activities, the children all decided they wanted to take this time to just “be”. So we have departed from our usual chaos of every moment being packed with an activity and a strict schedule to adhere to. The clan created a "Summer Wish List" and we are checking off each activity as we go- so much fun!
This spring we had an exciting addition to our back yard... we put in a pool! With five children, and specifically our oldest with special needs, getting out to a pool as a family has always been a struggle. This addition has created such happiness… Most of all because it is something we can all enjoy together as a family.
This is my view as I type my blog this morning (It's a lot calmer than usual – remember I said everyone was still sleeping). Just me and my travel mug filled with Nantucket Blend enjoying some quiet time.
Oh no, I just jinxed myself! I hear some noise from inside the house; guess it's time to see what the troops want to mark off of our list today!
Super excited for Cooking on Q Day! The day is filled with all my favorites (and yours!); Keurig, Ninja, Soda Stream and of course Temp-tations with my very good friend Tara McConnell.
I will see you at 6am for an hour of Keurig with the fabulous Nancy Hornback. We will be sharing some fun recipes so be sure to join us! Also, make sure to check out her blog and see how she likes to use her Keurig brewer. Of course, can’t forget about our Keurig family-- please share with me on my Facebook page how you use yours!
Our brewers featured in the 6am Keurig Hour are great. We have our personal brewer (K39529) in so many fun colors. We also have our full-sized brewer (K39372), featuring Snapple Lemon Iced Tea K-Cups, yum yum! Be sure that you check out this great offer, this is the last day of our mail-in rebate and our only order of the summer pack-up. I don’t know about you, there’s nothing more refreshing than ice cold tea on a hot, lazy summer day.
I will be back at 8pm with David Venable for In the Kitchen with David!
Cheers to YOUR long, lazy days of summer. See you soon!
Xoxo,
Melissa
