The Wishful Dish swings in again this Monday, with some great ideas to help you get food on the table! I know we are all exhausted by Friday, so I want to help you put together a Friday Night Meal that is quick, easy, and delicious! This is the first time I will have David's Cheeseburger Potstickers from the Perfect Gourmet in my show, so I wanted to make this the focus this week.
You have never had a cheeseburger like this before! What I love about them is that you get such full, delicious flavor in a cute, bite-sized package. You can make as many or as few as you want, so it's very easy to keep them portion controlled. There are a couple of easy ways to prepare them, but I really like the crispy way the best. So, what do you serve on the side when you are eating a cheeseburger potsticker? Well, I would treat it like the cheeseburger itself, with fries, coleslaw, or potato salad. I thought I would share a simple coleslaw recipe that can be tweaked in a variety of ways, to suit your own taste. The best part is, if you want to save time you can get the pre-shredded cabbage and carrots in the bag, and this will take only 5 minutes!
Basic Coleslaw
Ingredients;
6 cups shredded cabbage
1 carrot, shredded
2/3 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 ½ Tbsp. sugar, or to taste
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/4 tsp. salt, or to taste
In a large bowl, toss the cabbage and the carrots together. In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, and make sure to coat every piece evenly. Keep it in the fridge until it's time to eat! Crisp and delicious!
Tip: To enjoy it nice and crisp, try to prepare it as close to serving time as possible, and chill the ingredients first.
I also have brand new pastries in the show from Jimmy the Baker! He bakes from scratch, and these are filled with delicious apples. Positively perfect for fall! So, if you want to see them early, here’s a peek;
We only have a couple of shows left this year, so I hope you can join me on Monday at 5pm!
